Apologies for not posting for a long time - been busy busy busy. Stopped being so busy after several months on wednesday night (party) and (typically)thursday night some dishonest motorist attempts an unsuccesful u-turn, comes across driveway and clips the back of (Tmus' old) EK9  - none of the neighbours saw anything and naturally the idiot didn't leave any info:

Lots of stress fractures and hairline crack in top left corner.

I've seen plenty of threads with much worse so am very thankful for that. I think it's beyond t-cut and due to the structural damage i'm probably looking at a new bumper...unless anyone is/knows an EK-friendly bodywork specialist that reckons this can be made good...

i'm willing to pay and prepared to wait for one that's as good a condition as the rest of the car that T put so much time and energy into.

Thanks!

Dave

If I was you I would fix it, would cost alot less. A bodyshop wouldn't have a problem with it. I could machine polish most of it out. Have you been to anywhere for a quote? Can't see it being much more than £150.

it depends whether it's been deformed. If it's deformed and got a dent in it, most bodyshops will bondo it, which I definitely don't want it to happen since bumper is made from flexible PP materials.

Also check the fitment of your bumper on quarter panel, many times the bumper is deformed and won't fit well on these areas.

I'll replace with new bumper.

Haven't been anywhere for a quote yet - no reputable bobyshops near me. Plus as mentioned is structurally damaged. New bumper on vtec direct (no colour) is +£1000!

Touge direct are doing a container option now which is slightly cheaper about £600 iirc. Might be worth a look but you will have quite a wait as there container doesn't leave until the 18th then it will be a good few weeks.

I have the rear bumper in yellow but underneath lip its white. This can't be seen with the lip attached. Want £200

i would just buy a genuine honda bumper from the main dealer

i wouldnt put filler on my EK9

it weighs to much lol

cant imagine it being any more than 200 pound and it will come painted yellow and you can use your old lip

brand ney yellow will be brighter as the pigment on 10 year paint faids slightly, if i was you id buy livvys bumper

Unfortunately it was snapped up by another buyer last night! should have checked the board again...

Have asked Livvy to pass on a message but will do it here too.

To the other buyer:

As the first post shows my bumper is damaged, and I need a yellow bumper, as also pointed out a brand new one won't match and will need a lot of capital. If you need a yellow one with 10 years of weathering to match the rest of the car explicitly then well played; if you don't: PM me and I'll make you an offer...

Otherwise, I'll wait for another one to eventually become available, happy to pick up and pay in cash...

I wouldnt worry about the colour match too much. I have Da'd the paint on my Jordan and have fitted freshly sprayed parts and a genuine EK9 grill (new) and the colour is the same. The match can be the same if you are prepared on putting in the ground work on the paint or its not too bad in the first place. You wouldnt know that I had stuff sprayed or put new things on when you look at mine anyway.

I don't know, but in my case paint is always hard to match on certian color, especially lighter color because paint always oxidized over years and get yellowing on the clear coat.

I reprayed my bumper (NH-0) and it looks a lot lighter and bright, but it takes time to age until it matches the rest of the car.

Some work shops will do paint matched to the existing color of your car, but after a while the newly painted part will become more yellowing on clear when it ages.

if your willing to travel to manchester i have 1 (white), not willing to send
