Emperor's track toy

I just use some industrial foam. Anything can do really, best to get some heat and fire proof. Don't get controled one, because the expand rate is small.

@DIY EK2142 and JDMJNKY - Like it, should see my pass job. every car comes in from Japan first things i rip them off :) (not for normal car tho) the most creasy one was a 86. it was a grade 4 mint car when its arrive, have full black interior, all electric pack, air con, power steering. i took every things off, take air con off, take power steering off, removed all sound deadning. whole car only have the dash, 2 seat, cage. the missus hate it. ha ha
yes that was a Honda CF4 sir, nice 4 door.

:wow::wow: Your a beast Bradda! Loving the spirit of the build. I was thinking why not buy a regular chassis and do this "mad man" things to it, but then I realized. It's how to make the best things, even better. Keep building and I'll keep watching

I love the CF4 I wish they made those here in the US.

I've seen this done before but never on an EK9. Is there enough space in the unibody for this to be effective? And did you use cavity wax and add any vent holes before you applied it?

Wish I was brave enough to do it to my car :p

would you be able to give me anymore info on this. i've never seen it been used before and keen to learn more

You need polyurethane foam:

Hi-Power Racing - JUN POLYURETHANE FOAM KIT

itwfoamseal.com (The first two are the correct products I believe under the FoamSeal product.)

When i do the EK9, i found the body have many gap and also they are big.
it different to others, such as nissan and toyota's. the metal are very thin compare to nissan.
regarding the effective, i think it is ok. but i do need to put it back on the "test track" to confirm.

cavity wax / anti rust - yes depens where.
extra vent - on normal car you dont need, because they have build it, unless you block them or delete them.

The JUN's foam was a very old things, not too many people still use them, because you need to max it your self - trouble, mess. but at the same time you can contorl it. now a days use the tin / can ready mix.
:thanks:

Very interesting build mate! :win: I might get some of the foam for the rally-car. I can't wait to see what you do next :nice:

not too sure will it help on rally car, they have high impact all the time and all the vehicle. but worth to try.

you may not believe the next thing. Chassis may sold to a good friend of mine. i keep the running gear and sale the other bits from the car.
if so, i will get money towards a 99 EK9, at the same time i can re-build the engine i have now.
not 100% sure yet, we both in 50 /50 at the moment.

Great read so far, love builds like this! ill be keeping my eye on your progress :D

keep up the good work :nice:

Right,
this build more likely will not be mine no more.
i will be braking it, some parts will be up for sale, money will goes towards a 1999 EK9. :)
and i need to carry on to build this car with a b18 off my mate UKDM ITR.
i will be using this shell with his engine, box, loom, hubs, calipers...etc
my my main concert was, will the engine mount from the ITR fits EK9?
he want to keep the EK9 speedo clock, but by using a ITR loom how many wire need to be swap or get a EK9 plugs easier?
many thanks

ok this is what i do with the Ek9 today.
seat back in as well as some parts.
underseal fully ready / done.

i got a little spec list of the car at the moment.
b18c engine and box off a UKDM DC2
apexi N1 exhaust (may change later if he can find one)
Spoon 4-1 manifold
J's racing induction pipe
spoon 4 pot front calipers
spoon alloy wheels
6 point cage
fully striped interior
fully foamed chassis (you guys aleady know this)
mister R / tein coilover
12000k HID

Hopefully i can finished it in week time and my mate can enjoy it in this summer.

regards

i have look at the conversion already. nearly bought a set of accord calipers off ebay.

the spec list of the b18 EK9 was not new parts, most of the parts is off his ITR. his chassis is notthing different to a bag of rust. that was the reason he bought me shell and swap over his parts.

Right,
B18c engine was out today. now awaiting new parts. ie. cam belt, mounts etc.
hopefully tomorrow will can start changing it, and by weekend, b18 will drop in.
photo will be follow.
:)

Not doing much on the EK9 today. due to customer parts arrive and i need to short some personal stuff.
