engine managment light

I have a small problem yesterday an orange light with the word check on it lit up on my dash. It came on when i gave the car a bit of stick off the lights and the wheels were spinning. Problem is i disconnected the battery and left the car idliling and the lught never came on but when i turned the heater on it reappeared and hasnt went off since! The car still runs perfect and it has oil and water. Does anyone have an idea what the proble could be?

you have to short out the diagnostic plug with a bit of wire which makes enine light flash in a sequence ie 2 quick flashes a pause then 3 quick would be code 23.theres threads about how to do it on here.prob only a lambda sensor

Check your fault codes and read what it is. Then you'll know what the problem is. You should have a plug either down by your center console or down by the kick well on the passenger side. You have to short out 2 wires and your check light will flash when you turn the key to on. Read the flashes. Long flash = 10 short flash =1. There is boung to be a list of cel codes on this site, if not I have a list and can post it up.
