right i got some 12x6 plates and a tilt bracket.
what is the best way to fit the plate with screws without the plate cracking,

such a noob question but i am a massive fail at DIY

I dont know why everyone loves the tilt bracket as the EK doesnt have them as standard

that sounds stupid
thats the same as saying "I dont know why everyone loves the n1 as the EK doesnt have them as standard"
people get them because they look good or sound good in the n1's case

not sure, what about self tapping screws, i dont think your number plate would crack anyway, or you could drill a pilot hole that is slightly wider than the screw you are using and that way they definately wouldn't crack.

your best drilling a pilot hole first, then use the right drill bit for the mounting screws :nice:

plastic screws and plastic nuts on the back of them... i used white 1s out of work so they dont rust or stand out from the white plate. pilot hole then bout a 1/4 bit drilled from the back of the plate with a bit of tape to mark the holes and stop the number plate tape ripping off the back.

measure it then drill holes.
use plastic screws. you can get white ones from halfords.

I used some adhesive Brackets from halfords, they bolt to the tilt bracket and then have two large sticky pads that stick to the back of the number plate.
Never had any problems with them coming loose or the adhesive going off and looks better than bolts through the plate In my opinion.
