For those guys who want to try the Torco Transmission Fluids, the UK Distributor is: Motorsport heat control products | lubricants | ceramic bearings and racewear - Nimbus Motorsport
.... I found it to be a bit more accurate when you remove the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) and use that as a fill point as it is completely vertical...
Can anyone get a picture up to show where the vss is located?
That's the stuff Dan. Stevenek9 gave me a hand changing my oil with that exact stuff that I picked up a few weeks ago
Appreciate the response mate
Ive never changed the Transmission fluid before. Is it a pain the arse?
you can buy honda mtf in 1ltr bottles now . i can get you the part no if you wish .
very easy to change . below the o/s/f driveshaft is a drain plug . 3/8 drive ratchet to remove it and let the oil drain out . refit the plug then up beside the driveshaft you will see a 17mm headed bolt . remove that and fill with oil till starts to run out . re-fit bolt . job done .
you will need
3/8 ratchet
17mm spanner
funnel for re-filling
Muchos thanks John. Thats put me at ease!
If you can give me the part number that would be great. Is the MTF stuff equally as good for the gearbox? I was quite curious as to why landrovers stuff seems to be a popular choice. Seems a bit random? Will 2 litres suffice?
You'll need abit more than 2ltrsiv 2 litres of castrol racing b373 for limited slip gearbox wil tat be enuf for 96 spec s80 gearbox ?
hi,
just wants to ask, what type of gearbox oil normally use for honda? any one can share it? tQ
