pritty much as the title says,
how long have you guys saved for your builds,
iv done nothing engine wise and only a couple of lips and wind deflectors so i didnt have to save :woot:

but seeing some mental builds in this place its got me thinking of this :nerv:

I try and build as I go but I do often wonder how people get these builds done so quick

build as you go if you dont have the money on tap like some people do overwise you'll get yourself in trouble moneis wise...good things come to those who wait :))

Like most poeple...

Build the car as you go. No cutting corners or youl probly need to do it again if its done cheap.

i been building my 300whp k-series motor since 2010 but it's taking so much time and money that i got tired waiting and thats why for now im putting stock k20z3 in it...just to have some fun and take my time finishing my k24/k20

Exactly. I'm a 20 year old unemployed Uni student living in the mainland. Although the car isn't on the road, let alone even registered. It's not going on the road until it's finished properly and I can afford it most of all lol. It's a long process but pretty much free accommodation for me here means the student loan gets used wisely aswell as the Newcastle night life I suppose :nice:

First car although an ej9 ended up costing me mint EK9 money + in the end, was through hard savings of birthday money, christmas etc.. since I was 12, I knew I was saving for an EK since then, oh and two years served in McD's!

Have my Lupo daily anyway at least :nice:

just as it comes along and savings from when i was young lol ive spent silly money on cars that ill never see again o well lol

a few months for my old ek9 b18 conversion and build of shell, fairly burnt the wallet though

I just buy things as I go . Not planning on any big engine upgrades or k swaps . I'm just going to make the most of my b16b .

I've wasted loads on cars and bikes over years might be caus I'm now in my 30s I don't see point in spending say £x000,s on engine swaps and stuff caus by the time you done that you might aswell put money into just buying a faster car .

Each to there own tho I appreciate everyone is different

I try to just do it as i go along. Find it quite hard at the moment as im getting my wage week'ly.

I'm the same mate. Mine started in November 2010 as k20, then I bought k24 stuff now it's taking that long my mates swapping my k24 stuff for a toda stroked engine. So will still go well but still lost out on a few bhp. Not far to go now though!

I've been building mine for almost 6 years bit by bit. Project is officially complete and it's gone from a fast road car to a competitive road legal track car.

I just do it as I go along wish I.could just take it off road, and do it myself but easier saed than done

Seems the way to go about it is bit by bit if funds are limited. I'm planning on spending 8 months to a year getting my ek9 the way I want her before it'll see the roads again.

Not drinking or smoking saves quite a bit I guess, and after all other priorities whatever is left over will go towards the build. Simples :)

I buy parts as and when I can affor them. It's a pain in the backside for me though because I will save up for one thing and just As I have enough I buy another thing lol.

Use my teg as a daily and it's my only car, would love to take it off the road and buy a run around so I could do a wire tuck, rebush, and spray stripped out interior.

I just bought a runabout and bought parts bit by bit it may take a bit longer but needs must.
