rang around recently to price going to a ek9 and the price shot up to £2500, near shat myself, so going to wait till the end of this year when i've 5yr NCB and 22 and try again.

i pay £3450!! and thats 3rd party fire and theft and its in my brothers name !! i got caught speeding when i was 17 and lost my licence for a year, had to sit my test again and pay the price when i ask for insurance!!(

In the US so mine's a little different.
Just turned 21 and my most recent bill was $48 (monthly). It was $70 when I was 20. This is just for liability. I may add comprehensive back on or maybe up it even more if it's cheap enough. Adding comprehensive looks like it would only raise it to $60 a month. That's still less than what I paid at 20 for just liability.
