Need some help guys.
I've been trying my best to get a comtetitive quote on my ek9, but I don't think comptitive quote and Manchester post code go in the same sentence...well not untill your about 30 anyway:angry2:

Basically I'm 24 with 4years ncb, 7years driving experience, no provious convictions etc with my folks (over 50 added as named drivers on my policy) yet I still seem to be getting crazy quotes for my ek9, as Manchester seems to be hell on earth in the UK to insure cars from:(

Bell has been the cheapest quote so far @ just over £900 FC with £350 voluntary excess

Brentacre don't insure under 25s on ek9s.

A plan apparently do not insure Manchester or Liverpool post codes?

Adrian Flux didnt even bother to quote me, when I said I was trying to beat £900 quote, but said I was looking at around £1500 with them.

Noel Dazely said to give them a call next week as their import team are not available at weekends.

Performance direct quoted me just over £2000

I know I'm under 25, so still classed as a high risk with performance imported car, but I really thought I would get cheaper quotes than this:(

So its looks like I'll be going with Bell again if I can't find anything cheaper....either that or move out to the sticks somewhere in a crime free zone lol.

Anyone suggest any other companies I may have some luck with i.e. that insure imports with bad post codes and drivers under 25?

I was thinking to wait a few months untill my 25th birthday, but a few people have said it won't make that much of difference?

Thanks

Is that 3rd party or fully comp
tbh I don't think £900 is that bad these days
I'm 19 with 1yncb with a ej9 and I pay £2000
ek9 is an import afterall. :s
keep calling around tho you never know :)

That quote was FC with £350 voluntary excess dude.

Don't get me wrong, £937 isn't too bad, but I thought I would be paying a little less tbh....plus that was before I even asked about any mods.
Its just a bit of a shame that the specialist companies that give forum discounts etc, exclude Manchester, NI and others places from their policies really:angry2:

You pay £2000 for an ej9:wow:...props for biting the bullet and paying that much man:nice:

Just out of interest is that stock or modded?

Stock lol
that started when I was 18 tho
I've tried it since then and it went down to 1600
but I think that's still alot for a 1.4 even if it is a fast one
is this a re-quote, as in your second year of driving it?
Cuz you could just say to your company to beat 900 of your going else where

D'janiero, try insurance choice! :nice:

Thanks Will. I'll give them a call:nice:

Try Greenlight insurance.

Are you insured with them mate?
It says on their forum that they are unable to insure Honda S2000, Integra DC2 & DC5 imports (UK DC2’s are acceptable), so I assumed I would'nt get a quote on an ek9 through them. Can't hurt to call them to find out for sure though.

Yeah deffo is alot mate. But I think insurance has seriously gone up this year I reccon.
Ive had the car since 2007, but I took it off the road for a few months....so I could probably go back to bell or other companies through the admiral group and see if they could beat my original quote to try and get my custom again.

Not insured with them but they gave me a quote for a K20 swapped EK9 for £1500 at 21. Haven't tried them for a standard one though.

Try Admiral , bell is part of them but they gave me a better price although that was on my Saab , worth a try though :nice:

Cool thanks for the suggestion guys. I'm in two minds whether to hold out untill my 25th to get it insured, or just insure it asap.Atleast it will be back out on the road but will have to be left stock:(

However, if I do that, I think I'd get bored with it in stock form, and would be kind of depressing to have to wait another year untill the policy runs out to insure it with mods.
Decisions:confused:

Greenlight are cool.

They charged me nothing for B18C swap. Just £15 admin fee.

Tried them Gee, but they were no good for me either:angry2: Even Insurance Choice, A plan, Flux you name it.
I knew we were high risk up here in Manchester but not as bad as this:(.
I thought Brentacre would be my saving grace as ikzgt off tgtt forum said they were really good (agreed bhp policy with as much mods as you like) and he lives pretty close to me, but could not insure me untill I was 25.

No matter who I try, I keep coming back to Bell/Elephant Admiral group.
They're not too bad with mods tbh, but I would rather go with a specialist company who actually know what your talking about when you mention what mods you have etc. But all the so called specialists inc the ones on this forum exclude Manchester post codes:angry2:
I need to move out to the sticks or something

900 odd realy isnt too bad a price. shame about the specialist companies though.

Ahh man, thats too bad. Never realised you were under 25.

I phoned BrentAcre for a quote today too and they were very competitive.

go with the aviva they giving out good quotes

Thanks for the heads up man. Are you insured with them? Do you have a bad post code?

Yeah £900 is'nt too bad I guess mate. But I plan on modding my 9, and the premium goes upto like £1300 just for adding rims, exhaust induction kit etc:((
But theres no other way around, unless I hold out till I'm 25 in a few months, or move out to a crime free zone in the sticks.

25 in a couple of months bro. For the first time in my life I actually wish I was older lol.
I guess I could hold out for a few months, but I wonna get my car back on the road for summer.
What sort of quotes were you getting with brentacre?
