Some damage when my car only needs a wing. My front wheel did all of the damage.

If only he knew that I was up the inside of him going into the corner then that wudnt of happened. Ah well thats racing and it was such a fun day! Cant wait to get out again.

Your car flys around kirkustown, just watch out for the other civics lol

Ive now had the car out on a test day and on a trackday on Sunday past.

The car performs very well for what it is and supprised a few on the track

Still plenty to improve on suspension wise Im only running a basic coilover setup without any camber arms yet and Parada Spec 2's as a control tyre. I would also like to strip more weight where possible

Awsome dude, wee car must be going well. You must know the track well and have good driving skill... Whats you best lap times in the ek4 compared to the ek9 round kirky??

With camber arms, geo set up and different tyres you'll be moving on writely, giving bigger cars a run. What brake pads you running?

I know the track well enough now mate, think Im squeezing as much out of the civic round there as I can for now.

This civic is getting an average of 1:11 and the EK9 was getting 1:09 but I never drove it as hard as the vti. The ek9 should of had an extra 30bhp, better chasis, tyres and a close ratio gearset

I was running DS2500 but with the brakes being so small on the ek4 they get hot very fast and the pads only lasted 2 full days and one 15min race. Im going to try a harder pad next and my standard discs are scrap

It will be good to see you and phill down to get a few more Honda's on the track. My mate had a blast in his DC2 so he's booking the next one

A few more recent pics of the car with my Sponcer "Type-2 Honda" specialist in Dundonald N.Ireland.

Mike at "Type-2" has helped me out loads with the car recently with labour and supplying various parts. His work and facilities are top class and he has a lot of experience working on these cars and can get nearly any aftermarket parts that you need aswell as all OEM Honda parts and Motul Lubricants etc

We recenty added and ek9 racebase manual steering rack from vtec performance along with new lower ball joints and track rod ends and front hardrace camber arms.

I also had a problem with the cooling system pressurising on the track after hard use, mike removed the head and sent it for a light skim and de-choke, then re-fitted with a new OEM Honda headgasket and its now 100%

Next plans are possibly poly windows to remove a bit more weight and hopefully some semi slicks in the future. MOT is up soon aswell

Prob wont make it this Sunday mate, the car has no manifold atm and I really need to get it ready for MOT at the start of next month unfortunately. Im also working a 12hr nightshift on Saturday night :nono:

I warped the discs that came on the car in no time (not sure what they were) the ones on the car now are stoptech grooved 262mm discs and they seem to be holding out very well after 2 hard trackdays and mintex m1155 pads :nice:

hey mate car looks great! you can take my mani until you get sorted. Give me a shout if you want it and il pull it off for you.

Cheers for the offer mate but Im prob just going to take a drive down on sunday afternoon when I wake up after nightshift to see phill in the dc2 and kippers sir

If you fancy a spin down give me a shout

Are you going to be out on the next race meeting?

No bother mate if you change your mind let me know. yeah im gona head down after lunch myself. not sure about the next race really need to test this box before i go out again.

Cheers, Im now running the Tegiwa toda replica manifold. I havent drove the are in ages but I'm just waiting on a few parts then MOT on the 14th and hopefully trackday on the 16th at Kirkistown.

I have changed a few things on the car recently, including intake, tyres, manifold, fitted a rear type-R rep spoiler and rear splitter so it will be good to get it on the track again

Quick pic of the engine bay now:
