Limiter speeds

Still on stock cams and valvetrain? I wouldn't be going near 9500 on stock valvetrain. I'm sure you would be getting very close to valve float at anything over 9k.
I agree totally mate. It doesnt feel stock compare to other ek9's and dc2's ive been in. Wonder whats hiding under there lol.

You'd be at peak power around 8600 with a stock b16b valve train.
I'm not sure about valve float at 9k but I'd certainly not be going to 9500 on stock valve springs.
You have a dyno graph?

I would definitely investigate before you start pushing the rev limiter up mate.

Cheers guys, cars still getting setup for track so will find out shortly what its running.

Please note below figures are in km/h. Gearbox is a 98' spec s80 (4.7FD) with 4th and 5th s4c shortened gears and rev limiter raised to 9100rpm, remapped with an AEM v2 ECU. Tyre size 195/55-15.

1st 65
2nd 103
3rd 147
4th 195
5th never got that far lol
My car is prity spot on to this but I'm running 195 55 16s
Gear box is s4c ek9 standard, AFAIK? I thought I had 4.4 fd ?

This is what yours looks like with mfactory cal

The sticker on the box says s4c but is about to fall off but I'm sure someone would not swap stickers ,
Only that you posted your limiter, I said that's spot on to my box give or take 1 or 2 kph .
Maybe the wheel size is coming into play ?
I don't know mate lol ?

I'm more like 64ish 1st 103ish 2nd 142ish 3rd 195ish 4th
That would be very very close to what I get from my box .

For sure the top one is spot on there about to my box

Your spot on mate !you never know what you have on less you built it up yourself from scratch,
As I'm just coming to the conclusion that iv 4.7 and not 4.4 .
That would if been confusing as I was planning a 4.7 swap this summer lol . How did I not know ? As I friend had said few weeks ago on the motorway that the car has great pick up , feel very dumb now lol .

Its possible you have a jdm ek4/eg6 s4c with lsd or a normal ek9 s4c, maybe your final drive has been swapped for a 4.7 on either.

Problem with going off the calc is the speedo will be out by a margin, as will the Rev needle. So makes it incredibly hard to judge. If you ever have the gearbox off and count the teeth.

No idea what it is now, I was told when buying the engine and box that it was ek9 box ,but I kinda take that with a pinch of salt when you can't verify first hand . But seems like the calculations are not far off for a 4.7 .
And as Jesse said only real way of knowing is count the teeth ,as I plan on doing when I do input shaft bearing when the weather clears up .

At least then you will know for sure and not waste your money which can be spent elsewhere ☺

True xxxencorexxx! And clanky diff I already have it sounds like someone is hit my box with a hammer when in 1st and going slow she bangs quite loudly?

Generally it's with steering angle and low power that they clunk/bang.
Mine jurks the entire car
