Hello! I've finally joined as i've been reading the site for a few months now and have a few questions (i'm sorry if there newbie ish and some are bloody retarded!) :p

Basically i'm looking to buy a EK9 CTR in the next few months as i've wanted one since they came out and with buying a house and getting a garage i want a nice car in there to keep clean for weekend / the odd track day & Nurburgring (i go there every year). I'm a massive (youll hate me now) Vauxhall fan and so i'm coming away from the comfit zone for this :nerv:

Basically I see the CTR as a good investment, quick yet handle well which is what i want!

Questions -

1) I'm unsure if to look at a fresh import or a currently imported one and if so where to look really. Also i believe Ireland is a good place to get one but where in Ireland can i look?

2) What generally what should i look for when i view or ask when buying / looking at them? Is there a buyers guide here at all?

3) Is there any basic mods that people can recommend to do first?

4) In regards to modifications i see all sorts of things like X braces for the rear ( they look epic IMO ), under car braces etc but there are so many options im confused what's good and what isn't - any guidance

5) Any specific threads i should look at / read as ive read alot and its confused me more :nono:

Many Thanks

Kev

1. id say get a imported one already due to import prices being high

2. http://www.ek9.org/forum/general-chat/1192-what-look-when-buying-used-car-blinxs-official-guide.html

3. a nice induction kit and exhaust wont go a miss. cant really recommend one as its all personal taste. personally i like the J's racing induction kit and Spoon n1 exhaust

4. it all depends how stiff you want your car, how far your willing to go with modding, how much money you have and want to spend.

5. just look through builds mate.. some real good stuff on here

hope that helps a bit :D

WELCOME! I also go to the ring every year :D 3rd time this year :D

Thanks now ive joined i can see the car for sale section :D (should of done it sooner!) All makes sense what you have said aswell.

What is the difference between pre and post facelift models btw

Ill be at the ring in June in my diesel Vectra 55 plate oh year

welcome to the forum mate nice introduction :) pre facelift models have different shaped fron bumpers and slightly different dashes and front lights apart from that mate not a lot

welcome yes Ireland has quite a lot of ek9's, try donedeal.ie, Honda-Haven.com.(check for sale threads).

but in saying that, a fresh import from Dunx would be my choice if you have the money.

i hate people joining and saying "hi"

Im like WTF sort of topic is that  I run part of a vauxhall forum so i can work my way around them and not use text talk etc  Just there is more to life than a Vauxhall and i NEED Vtec

Whats all this about a CTR RX then is that a light weight model of the CTR compared to standard?

Mattharvey12 has given you some sound advice :nice:

Sounds like a punishment to me :D

welcome to the forum bud, and hopefully we'll kick your love for Vauxhall out the window. They'll be no going back once you've got yourself an EK9 :))

Vectra will be fine hammered but fine

welcome mate, nothing really to add, Matt and Martin seem to be taking good care of you :p

Welcome mate.

Dunxs website (he specialises in importing cars from Japan - moreso EK9s) is FastJapCars.Com :: Dedicated to Japanese cars He is really quite respected within this community as the motors he brings in are top quality.

As for mods...as said above its a personal preference. Several people on here have a vast amount of knowledge when it comes to mods.

All the best in finding a decent 9 :))

i dont even own a 9, or even been in 1, doubt i ever will either but i love em

Yes the silver EK9 is a very clean car. Get yourself something that clean and you can't go wrong :nice:

It looks silly clean which is good. Shame cant move on it now :(

I think that one just sold anyway. Sell your Vauhaull, get a 9. You know it makes sense :p

I do 95 miles a day to work and back so the 9 will NOT be a daily im not made of cash :(( Hence the diesel for daily 9 for fun :))
