no i wasnt showing it because of who won, but it clearly shows the difference an m3 would have over even a k20'd ek at higher speeds that was the point i was trying to make
haha, got to laugh at some of these threads that pop up
ek9 can hold it's own through twisties against some bigger cars. i've nudged a E46 m3 along a back road before, couldn't shake me off. Also had a play with a new style 911 turbo whilst driving my dads FD2, after the porsche got a bit broadside round a certain corner he soon slowed down and let me past
Moral of the story, depends on driver, in the right hands there's no way i'd be keeping up with said cars, thing is up in Aberdeen there's alot of people with more money than sense. same applies for drag racing as in the original post, how well both cars are mechanically, what tyres they're running etc etc
lets just stop this rubbish now. Lets face it...how much did the M3's cost brand new compared to the EK9? no point comparing.
Goodnight godbless!
Look at how much it takes to gain just 1,5 car length on the M3 at lower speeds in that movie, 255hp K20 (aprox) with 6 gears. No way a 185bhp or 200bhp 5 gear EK9 is going to keep up imho in a straight line. On a tight track the EK9 will keep up or even win. Otherwise it won't.
But the most important thing to consider is the fun factor. What's the use of having the fastest car around if you don't like the way it drives, don't like the feeling it gives you?
That EK9 kept in front till a very high speed. And i can bet that EK9 is 224BHP @fly. It would beat the M3 for alot longer then that if it were a K20 with 255BHP. All its got is a after market header. And thats the E36 BMW, i only have experience racing the E46.
Why im still posting i dont know (
Lol Dan i did tell you to stop!

While it is known as the M3 Competition Package in the US and mainland Europe, it is also known as the M3 CS (Club Sport) in the UK
