Hey Guys...

Just recently bought a Black Ek9 Rx 2000.. I have a AEM C/A intake fitted and am looking for a high quality manifold and exhaust...

What are opinions on the Toda 4-2-1 and Buddy Club Spec 3 ?? Is there any other recomended systems ??

Cheers - Andy :D

the Toda manifolds are regarded as one of the best that you can buy so that would be a great purchase!!!

as for the rest of the exhaust, depends what you want really! loud/quiet and the shape of the muffler too....

Buddy Club systems are regarded as being quite loud although they are also good quality so yeah if you like the style of it then go for it :D

Toda is considered the best header for the B16B because of the torque gains.

Buddy club exhaust is a loud exhaust, is that what you want? cheers.

what about their street spec one? thats designed to be quiteter surely?

how loud in the MUGEN TWIN LOOP over the standard one??

Twin loop exhaust is one of the best, I have one and I love it! Is a little bit louder than the stock exhaust, it gives you one of the best performance gains :nice:

thats all i needed to know mate ;)

had a SARD catback on the old eg6 sir and i loved it but i want to get away from that bad boy loud exhaust tag. but still have a little bubble going on. i have heard the mugen is awesome for power and torque. how would you rate it volume wise on idle and under load...does it have a slight sporty note to it?

toda header is excellent choice, as for exhuast i always say:

just pick the one you like the looks/sound of as long as its 60mm+ piping. :nice:

Hmm too many choices !! lol.. Hows does the spoon n1 look and sound ?? Im no boy racer but im kinda into my loud notes for exhuasts. What would benifit performance most ??? Also any good makes of de-cat ???

Cheers - Andy :)

Guys, what about hytech headers?

They are not even available in my place, but Im really curious about the claims of these headers totally walking all over TODA or Spoon ones.

Im currently using a Spoon header btw.

Yes, what Ive heard about Hytech headers is that they are "track only" headers in contrast to Toda, spoon or every other brand you know......because they require A/C and P/S removal and they give some outrageous numbers on these low displacement engines. I found once on a trustworthy site that a genuine hytech manifold gives something like 20 bhp and 22 lbs or torque and costs around $1300+

Nice - think will defo go for the TODA manifold... What are ppl view on the Spoon N1 system ??? Does it look good ?? Sound good ?? Performance ??

Is the tail pipe size ok ?? Also anyone know anything about the buddy club spec 3 ???

Cheers - Andy :nice:

Cheers For the input guys...

Rite im gonna be ordering very soon - im defo goin for toda manifold but not sure on stainless - is the Spoon N1 a good system ?? Make a good note ??

Cheers - Andy

Come on guys.. Lol im needing some advice - Spoon n1 or buddy club spec 3 ?? Does the spoon n1 look too small - tailpipe wise..

Cheers - Andy :D

yes i think the spoon is too small looking, but some people like that.

get the buddy club spec 3. its different but if u take the silencer out f*ck me is it loud. i got one on my ek9 and it made one hell of a difference!!!! 2 of mates have them aswell n we've never had a problem with them!!!

Hytech headers are the best of the best for NA motors, and the ones that cost $1300 are custom made for you're application, so its perfectly matched for you're setup and if you want to keep the PS and AC hytech will build the header to fit, without any real compromise. They can build an all out race header if needed as well.
They do sell an off the shelf production header for all the b-series motors in either small or big tubing for $800 dollars. By far the best bang for you're buck header.

for the production header i think you might need to use an ek4 flywheel cover cause teh type-r one is really big.

Lol its decided guys... I just went for the Buddy Club Spec 3 - purely for looks, its a really good looking system. My past few cars have all been big turbo's, impreza with a Blitz Nur Spec lol.. The spoon just too much of a pee shooter for my liking..

Will I notice any gains from the TODA manifold And Bussy Club system ??

Cheers - Andy
