Heres my build thread copied from another forum,C+C welcome...
Well i think i have enough photos and info to start my project thread now!
Ive allways wanted an EK hatch for as long as i can remember, for my first car i was quoted £2700 TPFT! So instead i picked up a very clean 95' renault 5 1.4, then on to a 96' 1.1 fiat punto, now almost a year on (on the 20th of october) ive finally got my civic at a more reasonable insurance price!
Im wanting to keep my civic clean looking with influences from both USDM and JDM, planning on keeping it for quite a while and hopefully drop a b16 in it in the distant future.
Onto the car,its a 99' ej9 in vogue silver, higher milage at 104k but has been very well looked after and was garaged by an old lady for 8 years! Anyone who has seen the car knows how immaculate it is.
When i got it:
I then got an ek9 grille ..still in the process of spraying it 2 weeks later due to scottish weather.
I had a richbrook gear knob lying around, sanded it down, all the way upto 1200 then polished it,left it with a nice shine which quickly faded...then decided to spray it to keep it looking flush, still not sure if il use it as it sits higher than the original!
I then set about re-furbing my alloys..wolfrace octanes-nothing special...my mission was to make them something special, original plan was gloss black with fluorescent yellow lip. Apon starting to sand them i realised it would take years, so i thought "il get them sandblasted"...which quickly led to "**** it il go the full way and get them powdercoated"
Went from this...
...to this (candy blue with sparkle lacquer)
Then gave the car a full service..and got caught out by the ever shortening daylight!
Well its been a wee while since i updated this, finally finished spraying the grille and got some semi-decent pics with the blue wheels on! Il let the pics talk...
Close up of the true colour:
Pictures as promised....thinking i want them to be more blue.
Im going to get the bumper filled and re-sprayed at some point aswell, cannot get those rusty bolts out at all! Just going to leave that for the bodyshop guys.
Please excuse the pure filthyness of my car and my winter wheels!

Front Grille (tick)
Front Lip(tick)
