Hi people,

after read a lot of your racing posts and builds, we decide to share our first experience on road racing cars , to add something for this great forum and receive all kind of help , opinions and critiques why not.

MSR is the name that will use like a team , and the name which people know our works , for street racing , until now.

The car was my street Ek3 , and we decide to tuning it for the tracks and time attack events. we are two drivers , for that reason we use regulable wheel column , and practicable seat.

Here's the victim :

Was a street racer Ek , with D15-turbo engine (165whp) and all the things you need to drive it onto the mountains we live.

And this is proyect with the advanced work :

Chasis:

Our goal is to get a good stiff chasis with all the blurry suspension movements out. Capable of handle with the Dunlops slicks and concentrate the suspension matter only onto the suspension parts. Fast and safe. All the bushings converted to spherical and some invention on the caster/width front vias. The driver position custom to our necessity and thinking on 2 drivers. All the security on the roll cage , without compromissing the weight.

- EK with MSR weld and MSR roll cage
- ATL fuel cell
- Lexan windows
- All camber/toe , LCA and balljoint by Hardrace
- Coilover system H&R RSS Clubsport , GP version.
- Front Legend 2pot calipers with EBC Ultimax 11" rotors and Ferodo DS3000
- Rear RSX caliper with 10.2" EP rotors and Ferodo DS2500
- New brake circuit without crossover or ABS and Wilwood proportioning valve on 1" ITR master.
- Front EK9 sway bar 26mm
- Rear DC2 Spec 98 sway bar 23mm
- All the weldings , reinforced and sway plates by MSR
- Our front bumper with some MSR splitter
- TC rear wing
- Dunlop 200/580/15 medium compound on 15"x7" bronze wheels

Engine:

After some good experiencie on this powerplant on Accord proyect , we decide to use it cause the prices and difficult B - K series world here. We made some turbochargers proyects and see the big gains to use displacement on spool times , and power curve. For that reason, we use 2.000cc and the better option for us is the F20 model. It's a cheap engine , lot of spare parts here and have the goodness of a 2.000cc , but lighter than others like H22/B20 thanks to the SOHC head. In addittion , the transmission combo of H22 gearbox/clutch can give to us more reliability and strongest train. Not to say some option like K20/B20 DOHC can give more performance , but we think for a road racing civic with 2000lb (no regulation here) is enough to start.

Our hope it's to work on E85 and maybe get 200-220whp on low pressure.

- F20B6 stock bottom from Euro Accord LX
- Ported Head by Jaas on stock Vtec cam
- Jaas stack manifold
- CR low to 9
- MSR motor mounts
- H22 JDM gearbox with LSD
- Mocal oil cooler kit
- Mishimoto Dual core from Accord
- Turbonetics T3/T04E 50trim Stage3 (76/54 comp 56 turbine)
- Some IC
- BOV Forge Motorsport with recirculation system.
- Intake MSR
- Waste Tial 38mm
- No exhaust , only downpipe to air.
- Ectune with PWM

Inside:

Thinking on 2 drivers any moment. So... seat for 2 and wheel for 2 (regulation)

- Dash MSR with S2000 gauge
- Modded steering column to fit our position , down 2" and 8" large
- MSR extensable wheel column.
- Recaro Pole Position with MSR low practicable mount
- Sabelt 6 point
- OMP 350 wheel
- Dash panel by MSR

Need to say we don't have any regulation or restriction to race , cause is an amateur car and the time attack regulation for us is Pro A , without any limit passed.

Hope you like and yours opinions.

Regars!

Some news...

After 1 month waiting for it, today arrive the coilover system. It's the RSS Clubsport version from H&R.

Liked the good technical support from factory cause they tell us for the car weights and suspension geometry to setup it.

The H&R people thinks 14kg front , 10Kg rear and 4kg front helper , 2kg rear. The strut setup is too set from they , and have one internal regulation.

IT comes all but top hats.

So.. we have old top hats from anohter suspension , the Sunk2 models

Now we need to find the good height setup and modify the steer rod to work without "bump"

Hope for the Hardrace package and will get all the suspension parts.

Thanks people!

Neil , i can't send MP still .

We have Hardrace balljoints for the bump-steer matter. but thinking on the race car height , maybe it isn't enough and we need underside the rod , like you says. for that reason want to put the suspension onto the chasis and play with a jack seeing the rod radius and modify all necessary.

in addition , we have some front LCA desing on mind, to gain caster and via-width , you will see...

We try on another EF chasis, on the 5-6 degrees of caster , and the result is awesome.

Car is coming along nicely, cage looks awesome! It will be fun to watch the progress of this :)

Thanks people!

Today we manage the new brake lines. After the interior paint we start to put these.

Last work for 2011...

The engine bay is welded and the new shift column is done.

The work...

Now is time to weld the under-chassis

The shift column is bolted for remove in case of modification. Made in Cr-mo like the rollcage but in 10mm square tube.

Finding now some lightweight composite to close ii.

To have a wheel deep-regulation , will made a new telescopic hub in aluminium.

Regards!

Yep...

the new fuel cell arrive to us. We are thinking the best place for it. Maybe cutting the old passenger floor and putting it onto the original fuel tank place, on a upper position just leaving the fuel hose and charge line aligned with the floor sheet.
