My B16a Dyno


so.. u'll suggesting i should go back to the tuner n set the vtec point back to 5800?

No.

Just go back to the tuner and go with an abnormally high VTEC setting and an abnormally low VTEC setting. Then overlay the graphs.

It doesn't matter what cam...what motor...what combination of parts you have.

The perception of power from VTEC is ALL DUE TO MARKETING.

A proper VTEC motor will deliver seamless power where you can only hear the VTEC transition. It will FEEL slower, but will be faster because you are making the most power under the curve (dyno plot)

Unless you are running some seriously HUGE compression or cams or have a strange mismatch of components ..only then might there be a surge of power...but if your parts are working in harmony with your tune... the VTEC transition will ALWAYS be seamless...doesn't matter if it's 16A/16B/18C.

Ultimately the e-manage is used to fine tune the FEELs chip. I will blatantly put that any chip out there is no match for a properly remapped ECU.

Unless you happened to have the entire catalog of FEELs parts and even then, in the hands of a capable tuner, a proper remap will ultimately drive smoother, deliver more power, have better fuel economy and will run safer.

But what if you don't have access to a dyno? Well... I suppose any chip is better than no chip.

Will it work on a standard B16A?????????????

It will work, but it will not be beneficial till you've performed an intake, header and exhaust.

but as you know FEELs chip is not original. is it alot difference between ori and non ori?????

i already change air filter, exhaust and header but the power is not there....i thought that emanage alone can setting these 3 upgrades....correct me if i'm wrong.....

basically;my stock ecu has both the rev n speed cut.

adding the emanage itself will not unlock the rev n speed cut.

so by adding the FEELS chip. it unlocks both of them.

and from there on. my tuner used the feels chip mapping n remapped by the emanage. :)

my tuner is from malaysia, (sunway, JCRACING)

eh.. feels, mugen, spoon they are all 3rd party tuners.
so.. definately not original honda lo.

the original honda ecu(JDM) has the rev n speed cut; stock settings.

feels/mugen 3rd party has rev n speed cut remove, n some other settings altered.

by getting the emanage; u can fine them both. but it doesnt remove the speed n rev cut. tats y i got the feels rechip and remapped the ecu based on the feels chip :)

n, the moment u touch ur exos, air filter header n all, it will effect ur a/f already.

the emanage can fine tune back ur settings. adjusting ur A/f n if u get the extra cable for the emanage, u can adjust ur ignition timing as well.

but as you know FEELs chip is not original. is it alot difference between ori and non ori?????

yes...of course. i'm from malaysia...i did my dyno at JCRACING also...but the dyno fell short....140bhp only...1st run 132bhp. so kenny tune and achieve 140whp...

so how much is the cost for the FEEL chip plus emanage tuning?????i really want to get 160whp....

my dyno chart????nothing much. vtec activation is 5100rpm.

I think you should raise the vtec point to 5500rpm and see if it goes away. This wont be beneficial to 1st gear acceleration. No power dips = more acceleration.


Moon: theres no point cross charting dynos from different dynos. It wont be the same. Best way is to put your car on the same dyno at the same place.

need your idea...is there any new product that can increase power b16a(except engine part).

i'm using NGK plugs, K&N filter, simota guppy ram.

what is your opinion bout TSD???? is it worth it????

btw, the ngk plugs u having issit the cables or the spark plug? try upgrading spark plugs.

have u upgrade ur exos system already? wats the specs? inch of the piping?

for b16a" on stock i dont tink we should exceed the size of 2.3" else u'll feel power lost.

btw, wats a tsd? :p

can't remember the full name. product made in japan...use this product on radiator, intake manifold, engine block. to reduce high tempreture. one bottle is rm4XX. 1 bottle enough for intake manifold intake ram..

Why not just tune your engine properly to begin with instead of looking for boutique solutions?

I'm not against the idea of trying new things, but it sure sounds like you haven't even reached the potential with your setup and you're looking for more things to add to reach a power goal of 160whp which likely entirely possible with a proper map.
