Well a few of you alread know my car but i thought i would share it with the reast of you.
I have had this car for a few months now and thought for the first time i would document her story.
I purchased in Japan in Feb 2010 imported it to the UK and collected her from Southampton on the 28th April.
When i got it the spec is listed below.

Full cage, padded (Cosco i think)
Sparco seats on low rails (fixed drivers)
Stripped rear interior
Nardi steering wheel
MUGEN dash gauges
Quick shift
Gel Battery relocation to boot
APEXi Power FC ecu (running very lean :nono:)
B20B block with TODA Race pistons
TODA metal Head Gasket
OEM ek9 Type R cylinder head
5Zigen 4-2-1, De-Cat, 5Zigen Boarder exhaust (mental loud :wow:)
MUGEN air box
Spoon throttle body (68 or 70 i cant remember)
Nology hot wires
Oil filter relocation kit
KOYO alloy rad, NISMO rad cap ???
Fuel pressure regulator
Very light Fly Wheel with uprated clutch
ATS Carbon LSD
Spoon front brace
Front camber arms
Rear lower alloy arms
Rose jointed rear anti-roll bar

and in the boot was:- ZEAL coil-overs, oem ek9 seat runners, oem intake mani + throttle body, earth kit, Halo headlamps, Mugen shift knob, a 820,000 Yen (£6211) engine build receipt :D:bow: and some other goddies i cant remember.

The problems with her when i got it was the front lip was split into, holes drilled in bumper for crappy plate holder, oil very black/thick , wheel center missing, rev counter not working. Oh and the exhaust was MENTAL LOUD :wow::lol:.

There will be more of the build to follow shortly.

Thanks Duncan

Toda B20 is very cool, Car has had alot of money thrown at it! Must be rapid and great to drive. I guess this one is a keeper for yourself? :)

Well i am kind of looking to keep it as i found it really hard having lots of ek9's but not actually owning one if you know what i mean.
It is very quick indeed, goes through 4th and 5th like an standard one does 2nd and 3rd.
Goes round courners and stop's nearly as quickly.

Well the first jobs i did on her after getting it MOT'd, Tax'd and registered was

New wheels and ZEAL coilovers fitted

Also remove aftermarket stickers and replace OEM Type R stickers and fit new bumper

I left the TODA sticker ;-)

Fit MUGEN shift knob and give it a real good valet.

Are they buddy club p1 wheels? Never thought they would suit a civic but that does look hot! This is a track/road car I assume?

It is a little runabout for me and mainly a track day car. My old Mugen ek9 ended up being too good to abuse round a track.

Kaks i will come to the front lips later.

So here are some bits that were already on her.

Mugen clocks (i will be selling these)

I think it is a Cusco cage

Fuel press Reg + Oil filter relocation kit

Koyo rad ????? NISMO ?????

I fitted the breather filter and removed the metal breather/water pipe.
I also redirected the water feed from the Spoon throttle body. A lot of people seem to over look this, it heats the body (i think to stop it freezing in winter) and thus heats the air.

very nice ek9 and amazing spec!! those mugen clocks are sweet and nice wheels also! :)

Did you get it serviced and that ok? what oil did you use?

Have you had it mapped again to stop it running lean? what are bhp/torque figures?

Sorry for all the questions, I just love B20 ek9's!!! :)

I'm starting to think about going down the b20 route now. Much problems with traction?

Hi
Yes i fully serviced it, replaced the cam belt, oil+filter (10w40 semi), cleaned air filter, fuel filter, removed all calipers and pushed all pistons back, set hand brake correctly, freed and cleaned all pads/holders, :blabla:

The only real mechanical mod was to remove the mental 5zigen boarder and replace it with a Fujitsubo RMA01a. I personally think this is the best exhaust exhaust money can buy for an ek9 that is to do any track time. It is a straight through system with no reduction in pipe diameter on the joins or boxes. Most other systems have this restriction. They are loud without being "boomy" on the motorway like the Spoon and are fine on the Db front. Finally the build quality is only second to Mugen and Fujitubo also make some OEM systems for Honda.

So the next job was get her to the dyno :nerv:

Yes got her mapped. Had to turn up the fuel pressure then got it all set ok. It is running a quite safe 221hp (184whp) and 155 Ft-Lb Torque. We could have got more bhp up at the top end but i decided to keep the rev limit down to keep it safe.

I'm starting to think about going down the b20 route now. Much problems with traction?

Traction - Not a problem at all. To be honest 1st and 2nd gear feel much like a normal modded B16B. The biggest difference is in the torque, it just pulls straight through 3rd to the red-line with little effort. Then 4th actually feels very similar as 3rd :D.
Oh i have had it light up the wheels in 4th in the wet :wow:

Dyno printouts to follow in a mo.

haha how can you even say that?! the acceleration through 1st and 2nd from a B20 cannot be compared to a B16B in any shape or form! traction is a nightmare with B20's but the LSD usually sorts you out pretty well....

And your B20 is a bit more powerful than mine was so...i dont know how you can say that about the 1st and 2nd gear?

Sorry dont get me wrong it is quick, even a standard ek9 rev's to the red really quickly in 1st and 2nd and I think in a drag race in 1st and 2nd between mine and another 1.6 ek9 there would not be a huge difference. However as soon as it hits 3rd and can make use of the torque/bhp increase it would leave a standard 9 for dead.
