My Dc2 track car lap of Kirkistown.. UPDATED

Looks a well balanced car! And that is a fast track.... Hopefully I'll get at crack at it someday!

Jesus that is amazing. The gear shift looks great too.

In regards to my 1:04 prediction, You'll get there with slicks and more sessions with the clockwise power unit :nice:

Cheers Kris, the car is so much fun to drive and still plenty of things that I want to do like perspex rear window, a proper rear wing, rear diffuser and a functional air dam front splitter among other things

A mate of mine shaved 3 seconds off his lap times going from semi slick tyres to full slicks so even if I took 2 seconds off then I would be into the 1.04's hopefully, I need to balance chasing lap times and having fun though so for now to save buying another set of wheels and slicks I will work with the road legal tyres that I need to drive the car to and from the track. The quickest saloon race cars are doing a 1.03 so the car would be competitive in the series. I have thought about even trying a few sprints on the car some time in the future

Here are a few pictures of some of the cars on track yesterday, the Ferrari was something else!

The car felt great Aonghus and because it's quicker It will take a bit more practice to be able to push a bit more, I was tending to brake sooner because of the extra speed and taking the fast left hand turn at half throttle until I get the tyres sorted

It was 100% worth doing the k20 conversion :nice:

Good stuff. No doubt you will have it dialed in, in no time.

Heres a good company i found in the states everything you need . Pretty much one stop shop, and where i'll be getting bits in the future!

I found them a while back and you are right, there stuff isn't the cheapest but you usually get what you pay for and everything looks well made. When money allows I was planning to ask them for a package deal for the DC2. I really like the aesthetics of their parts too

I have the 5 inch side skirts fitted to my dc2, same as the special projects ones but got mine from PCI racing (they make the p1 stuff for kiwi at special projects afaik) i would love one of their jdm dc2 front air dams, been tempted to make one but havent as of yet

it is pretty expensive for the skirts which are essentially just lengths of folded ally but they fit well and should hopefully work as a full package with rear wing/diffuser and front undertray

Good luck getting a reply out of special projects, tried for months about their splitter kits etc.
Got my side skirts and rear diffuser from PCI in the end.

Jeez lad you've made some changes! Haven't been on here in a while. Must get back up to kirky again.. Been to long!! Have you any videos from the day we were up there together and I was deafening everyone? Lol

Great videos. Just subscribed. I like the gearing with the old b18, do you know which ratios you had?

Yea mate always trying to improve on the car, you will have to get up for a run again... I have to get the car MOT'd this month then I plan to do the May trackskills trackday for a it more testing after making a few changes to the track width of the car and new rear brakes to help stabilise the rear. No I don't have any videos from that day

Yea the close ratios really help the B18, I can't remember off the top of my head but I can find the ratios out if you need... its more about picking ratios which will suit the circuit you plan to use most tbh

Great build Stephen,
The car keeps getting better & better.
Keep the good work up.

You should definitely think about making a trip over to the mainland in this!

What bhp/whp did it make after mapping ?

I think it was around 205whp on a Dyno dynamics dyno and 176ft lbs at just over 4k at the flywheel

It goes better than I expected before building it, it should make another 10bhp throughout the Rev range with a 3" system but I'm happy with it for now and a bigger system will add a bit of weight, may change it in the future but If I wanted a substantial power gain it would be better to just add a rotrex charger

For now the car has plenty of speed to try and get slowed down at the end of the straights as it is so better handling will improve lap times more than power at this stage

Yeah I need to get up soon. Working shift work in London at the moment and my shift pattern suits none of the dates :( :(
