My slow but sure EK4 build up!

First off, this is not a build up as such. I will however add pics and stuff every now and again as i get bits done!


Anyway, started off as a clean but faded milano red EK4.
1 owner from new, 132k on the clock, TOTALLY standard, even had a towbar!
Original sales reciept, red key etc included.
Cant find my pics from when i got it, but here is a few from not long after i bought it.

Also please forgive the poor quality pics at the start!

1 with shitty fibreglass ek9 lips, fake grille and yellow fogs....

I then done my door cards in red suede type material, perfect match for red recaros!

Fitted koni's + lowering springs....

EK9 diy rear light job + wash +wax =

Next came the big brakes!
Prelude front calipers (rebuilt by moi!) + OEM ek4 calipers on EK9 brackets.
CRN front 282mm grooved + rear 262mm grooved + REDSTUFF pads (4x100mm obviously!)
Goodridge brake lines too while i was at it!
SAVAGE brakes now, night aqnd day better than standard EK4 brakes!

Doing the rears: (can also see my Sparco torino recliners too!)

Half way through it, realised my lude bracket didn't fit! :O
so it sat like this for a few 2 days till i got the EK9 caliper brackets, what a balls. And 3 out of 4 of the bracket to hub bolts were mullered!

Here's my SKUNK2 megapower cat back with de-cat(tail pipe badge fell off!!). Also has an EK9 manifold on it now too....

All cleaned up before the meet, Sparcos gone, DC2 Recaros in there now!

Then tinted the rear windows....

Nent came my favourite mod, 5 stud conversion, also now running OEM EK9 suspension. A million times better than the koni's and the standard eK4 shite....

Just hours and hours of sanding, sanding and more sanding! Then buffed with a cotton wheel until the mirrr finish comes up. But there is literally a days workin the sanding alone, but i think its worth it!

Very nice car mate, very clean loving the door cards, they look better than standard ek9 ones IMO
only thing i would suggest is some standard ek9 bumpers without the bump strips other than that keep up the good work

Update time!

Well one day i decided to do a wire tuck, and thought, wouldn't be a lot handier with the engine out.

Then thought, why not drop in a b18c, when i'm at it! You can see where this is going...

So i bought this ANIMAL!!!

Anyway a few days later, my car went from this:

Update time again!

Took the top part of the front panel off cos it was a bit rusty too:

Then i removed the radiator and AC mount brackets:

Fired in my new MOMO race wheel, NICE (and mitch's hub boss too, cheers!)

My Fet carbon front strut brace, love it! (thanks Livvy!!)

Exactly as it stands now:

So much left to do on it yet, hopefully getting my new OEM HONDA headset, HONDA timing belt +tensioner, Honda oil pump and entire HONDA bottom end seal set in the next few days!
Already have the new HONDA piston rings, water pump and ACL bearings here too, cant wait to get stuck in!

Update time!

Well i started working on the head while i'm waiting on my bits and piece to come by courier.

Rocker cover off, and removing the cam caps....

Caps off....

Started to clean valve faces, and removing valves.I HATE CARBON BUILDUP...!

All the bits, in order, in a box,put this away for a while....

Started polishing each valve as i go along....

All cleaned valves in order...

Then cleaned all inlet and exhaust ports on each cylinder chamber....

Cleaned the head down a bit more, wait on valve stem seals in the headset now...
