My slow but sure EK4 build up!

done reading and... cannot wait for the update! amazing stuff mate.

Thanks for the kind comments man, much appreciated!

Minor update time!

Well as some of you know, i'm replacing all the fuel and brake lines that go under the car because the old pipes looked like this!

I'm using CUPRO pipe, its 90% copper and 10% nickel, so it wont corrode like OEM steel pipes or the shoddy copper pipe you get from motorfactors. These will hopefully be corrosion proof and should last for years and years!

I also got this in the post today! Thanks to Fin and Dossir, i love it!!!

Here's a sneaky peek at my battery thet i recently mounted in the boot. More detailed shots in the next update!

A pic of my EK9 ARBs that i sprayed Milano red a few weeks ago, waiting on my ASR brace now to get them fitted!

And finally a few shots of the smoothed engine bay. I need to borrow me cousin's welder to fix some tacks i broke when i was grinding the lips back.Serious hours put into the engine bay already, and will need a few more yet!

Comments and criticism welcome!:nice:

Fairplay nice bit of work put into it. Engine bay will look sweet when you hit it with some paint:nice:

Update!

Got these off livvy off EK9.org. EK9 OEM grill, rear plate recess and side strips, Very happy with them!

Also recieved this in the post yesterday, Me ASR brace!

Started rubbing the shell down for paint. Went to the lad who is going to sporay it and he said what he wanted done to it, and he gave me a load of P800 W+D paper andf a few sanding discs for an orbital sander.
Anyway here's the pics:

You can see here where i was marking little imperfections on the bodywork with a marker.

And here's a better pic of my battery mounted in the boot using the OEM battery tray and clamp! Recycling FTW!!!bt:)

And lastly a pic of my CUSCO master cylinder brace i got off Livvy too! Thanks liv!

More to come soon!

Oh and if anyone has EK saloon rear door handles PM me! Need them ASAP!

Thanks!

Minor update!

Well as i mentioned before, i put my OEM B18 crank pulley up to be lightened today as i have removed my power steering. (mine never had air con)
So i gaue it to a lad with a small workshop at the back of his house.
He cut the pulley right down, balanced it an all. So happy with it, so instead of painting it black, i just laquered the cut face. (not that you'll be able to see it lol!) I think it looks class! Not bad for €15!!!bt:) ;)

Most of my braces are CUSCO so i decided to carry on the blue theme. Got a near perfect colour match from halfrauds and re done the brace clampsas they were a bit chipped and flaky in places. Done by battery stay and the bits below the brace too...

Re sprayed my CUSCO brake MC stopper again to freshen it up a bit.

Earlier today i ripped out the airbag loom and the PS airbag while i was at it. Heavy wee bugger! Pulled the plug out of the instrument cluster while i was at it.

Then i started to rub down my boot area to get it ready for spraying. Took off the battery tray, rubbed everything down with P800 paper and hit it with 2 cans of Halfrauds honda milano red paint, till i ran out!:mad)
Will get more soon to finish it off, another coat or 2 to get me the finish i want...

Finished pic of the battery tray without the battery on:

More updates soon!bt:)

Put the freshly sprayed blue bits in to see what they'd look like! I think they look the biz!bt:)
Pist off i fan out of paint now though!:wallbash)

I just polished it up a bit and resprayed the strut tops.

Got the Brace new off Blitz on this site.
Give him a PM, pretty sure thay have them in stock!

Updato!

Well, put the car down for paint yesterday evening.
I took the day off work to give Jodie a hand prepping the car for paint.

Pics speak for themselves, enjoy...

Dropped the front subframe and suspension out complete:

Primer finished, starthing on the milano red now...

Done! Now bake in a bloody big car sized oven at 35 degress for 1 hour!

Update!

Painting the shell done now.
The doors, bootlid, wings, grill, plate recess and bumpers etc will be done later.

So Jodie gave me the key of the spraybooth today so i could start putting some stuff back together.

Started putting in my brake fuel and clutch lines. I also fitted my pedals too. What a bitch of a job!

Here is where my aerial used to be. Flawless!

And i also fitted the ASR brace to the rear as well. At the same time i got all my fuel lines and brake lines connected up and fitted the fuel tank. So bloody awkward when the adjusters are all siezed! I sprayed the ASR logo in the same Cusco blue as everything else and then sanded the overspray off to just shoe the indented ASR logo in blue. Looks well IMO!!
