Nürburgring Aug 2009

it does sound like that might be the case but its all because of the altitudes vary so much on the track that in some places the car can be i would say up to 40% down on power because there isnt enough oxygen getting in to the car, which makes it underperform a lot and this will happen to every car. this is what ian will probably be experiencing

The Dream: Little B16a Ef9 Around The Nurburgring ! :D :drive:

___________
The Ek9 Man

:ek9:

Where its struggling is the long fast high speed stuff. Flat out in 4th (showing near 9k rpm) and some times snipping 5th but its just not as good. Mainly because its climbing hills which when you walk arround and cycle it you realise how steep the hills are.

My list is growing though it does this every time i come here.

I'm feeling

Spoon cams
S300 ECU and tune
4.785 final drive
Spoon calipers
Suspect new rings as my oil consumption isn't great 500ml in 3 hard laps :wow:
Strip further weight from the car
Fixed bucket seats
Remove airbags

blah blah blah...

I love the RING!

Lol at the list! Looking forward to the full report of on the Ring and off?! Cycling round as well? And of course the big one........how much you will have spent to give me an idea for next year! :wow:
See you when you get back mate :drive:

haitch it depends on a lot of things, the way i did it this year was relitavely cheap.
5 days and nights £150
getting my car ready was no more than £100
and food and spending money for me was about £200-300
so it is quite a good price i think
but then again i went with a company that organise trips and get the best deal for everything

have a look at the link in my signature to find out more if you want

awesome pics man looks like it was ncie weather for it aswell :D !!! i cant wait to go again :D

Awesome pics man :) I'l be going again in two weeks :Y)

In my EG5 I can't get past 100mph on the straight where it seems to be flat while it's pretty steep...And I only get at 100mph if I get through Bergwerk more or less perfect. When I don't I dont have enough momentum and can't get higher than around 87mph...

Got a rough idea already from reading websites & other peoples experiences, just wanting Ians tally, ferry, ins' & recovery, hotel, food & drink, car parts & tyres (if needed), lap tickets - just how many did he get in ten days, other activities - trips etc.

Always prefer to find my own way, rather than use a company although it can be cheaper, need to log in with the link, cant be ar*ed to register.

Kaks - There was a massive list of people wanting to go in the original thread & only a handfull have gone, to be fair to organise a full trip with lots of members would be a total nightmare imo. I myself had to drop out :D:win:

Cool pics, bet it was an awesome trip.. something I REALLY want to do, shame funds won't allow it at the moment... one day :)

Lol, it's JAHRES karte which means "year card" :p

but been using Ross's YARIS KARTE as his car has broken down.
Keep in my mind that afaik the card is coupled to 1 person and not to a car or something and afaik the card can be confiscated/deleted from the system if they discover you doing this.

Found out about how much **** you can get into so swiftly stopped using it.

Thanks for telling me the correct spelling LOL.

40 euros for breakfast, lunch, beers, snacks and dinner!!!

Perhaps we should meet up next time i'm over there? Going back in 3 weeks maybe taking the R1 :secret:

I'd REALLY love that, I hope I can, but at the moment my clutch is dead, I'm REALLY busy trying to finish my study and after that I want to attempt doing the clutch myself...have no idea how long it's gonna take. But if my car drives and I have time, I'd love to come over and meet some Honda enthusiasts from the UK :) And I reserve the right to get a ride in the 9 over the Nordschleife  :D What weekend are you talking about?

Claasic mate! Knew this would happen. What was it you said just after the engine was in? Pretty sure it was along the lines of there is not alot more to do to this car. I knew it would not be finished. It will never be finished! Thats the awesome thing about these cars. Now after looking at all these pictures i am making it my mission to buy another honda and get to the ring!!!

Nice pics there. I'm going out next month, 5th trip for me.
The GP circuit is also open 2 night running when I'm there so I'm gonna do that too.
Any laps left on you card you'd be willing to sell?

Lee
