Being that the long straight is broken up by the ticket booth & barriers, it's not generally the fastest part of the track...
The fastest bit is generally on the run from Flugplatz to Schwedenkreuz (sp?) Probably a true 135mph in a 9
I did a 9m25 on my first visit in my Golf. The ambient temp was 30+ & the car never ran fully cleanly either.
I think by far the biggest factor to improving around the 'Ring is track knowledge & importantly not becoming "blinkered" by laptime. Just plod round & learn as you go....
