Spoon drop is best for the money. Oem dc2 air box is pretty good intake design already, It will work well if u connect a cold air feed pipe into the oem box. I think it will work as good as the mugen. End of the day it just a box....
I have had both and the mugen is far superior! Huge airbox with large cold air feed, one huge very effective velocity stack for the filter housing and a velocity stack on the cold air feed The result is improved power throughout the rev range with roughly 5bhp and 3ft lbs peak and a nice induction sound
thanks every one for your reply i picked up a mugen airbox today didn,t realy drive the car yet to see what it felt like will let you guys no but the problem is im missing the trumpet pipe that goes behind the bumper would this affect performance.
Yea it will prob affect performance slightly as the trumpet shaped pipe is a velocity stack and accelerates the initial intake of air providing a power increase. This pipe also allows you to draw air from a cooler spot behind the front bumper.
Contact Tegiwa and see If they can sell you a spare one of the pipe that you need. If you payed good money for the Mugen it should have really came with this pipe!
put the mugen box on notice lots of difrent acceleration, and torque also power is good throttle response feels beter jus need to get the velocity stack.
it should be behind your bumper is like a big box that comes in them from the factory and if its not there it most be removed by the person who own the car before.
mugen airbox is a lovely bit of kit. i had a spoon air filter in mine before with the resonator removed and a cold air feed and the mugen is alot better.
can someone please justify the price of the mugen etc airbox i have just got an aem induction kit and was only 170 new i cant see you will get anymore performance out of the mugen box....??? someone please help
