where can i get my hands on a set of those brembo's stevenek9?

Wow. That's a lot of lolly for the brakes.
What's the specs on the discs? 300x32 or there abouts?

Worth every penny, on a trackday you can outbrake just about everything, gaining valuable seconds into a corner. Changing the pads is real simple, also the discs & pads last a lot longer, the initial outlay may be a fair chunk but a performance disc & pad combo can come in at £350 and you can chew through several sets quickly, with a big kit its less hassle & more economical.

I understand the reasoning, and I had the AP 6 pot kit on the FTO which cost the wrong side of £1500, but I can hand on heart say they weren't twice, or 3 times as good as the Wilwoods I now run on the MX5. The pads can be changed in 30 seconds on them, the same as the AP calipers, but the replacement rotors and pads are about 1/2 the price as they're not fetching AP/Brembo brand tags.
And yes, I can still outbrake anything that has standard or uprated OEM setups and keep going for well over 45 minutes.

So much drool-worthy kit in this thread. Good stuff! :D

from what i have read, your 300 willwood kit is good yes, but there is no point coming into the thread saying "is X kit really worth the extra over what mine costs". there is no denying AP racing / brembo brakes are top notch, unfortunately yes they carry a high price tag to match

bonus with the brembos is the shape of the caliper, they are large and very wide, however the caliper is shaped to give as much clearance possible in the basket of the wheel. i know of a few people having fouling issues with the willwood 300 setup between the bleed nipple and wheel which perhaps is a design flaw on their behalf

pads are only as expensive as the brand you go for, i run AP dixcel R01 full race pads in mine with FCR discs on the brembo bells - plenty choice out there depending on what your budget is for disc and pad combos

the discs are 295x28mm

 I wasn't implying X kit is better than Y, just offering a balanced view going on my past experience.
Absolutely if cost was no object, I would be running an AP setup on my track car, as they have the performance combined with the WOW factor. Not sure I'd be going for Alcon, as I did have a set once and they were pretty much identical to the APs but with another 15% markup on price... so I sold them on for 15% more than I bought them for to an MLR fanboi  He was happy with his bargain.

One thing people should bear in mind when looking to buy a decent brake kit is it shouldn't be limited by the wheels going over them, as you'll get more performance from a decent set of brakes (regardless of manufacturer) than a set of nice looking wheels :D
