Engine mounts, ball joint, drop links and rack rod ends plus guages will be ordered next week.

It WILL be rdy for japfest! Has to be

Well some updates, car is still not finished! blackworks rad and hoses are stuck in customs. And engine mounts im waiting on Ijwhiteman as im going to puchase his spoon mounts.

In the meantime i got all my drop links and ball joint needed.

Got my oil temp and oil pressure guages.

Ordered them from R Spec, stepper motor guages. Complete kits with senders, wiring, daisy chain power looms etc. Nice bit of kit.

Test fitted my diffuser, got to play around with it so it doesnt pull the bumper up too tight.

made some metal brackets that can loop around the oem tie bar to hold the diffuser up close to the subframe, then it bolts to the oem centre bumper brackets.

Heat shrinked them so they dont scratch my freshly painted tie bar

And more parts arrived!

Black works racing dual core rad, Big thanks to eternal blue for sourcing this for me!

OEM aircon delete

OEM RTA bushings, as i wasnt happy with shitty pattern parts that didnt fit right!

Also fitted a new boot to one of the front ball joints, and a brand new ball joint in the other. And replaced the whole hub as one of the wheel bearings felt a bit shitty.

Now to get the car rolling today hopefully!!

So after a long weekend. She runs!

Plugged her up, primed the engine with oil then fired up, other than a sticky iacv seems to run fine. Ill have a proper photo shoot this weekend.

Thanks, i edited my last post as it wasnt in a very good order. I think i did about 450 miles in it in december before it started knocking.

Just read through all this, that's some bad luck you've had!

Good to see you stuck with it,

What do you think caused the old bottom end to fail so dramatically?

Looks like particles from the bearings got in the pump, tolerences where all out. Probs caused a drop in pressure, spun 1 of the bearings.

New motor sits on cold idle with real strong pressure. Yet to road test yet the car yet, thursday rather permitting.

The pump must of been worn out already to cause the bearing wear,
Did the original engine have the n1 type pulley?

No didnt have an n1 pulley, ye unless it got oil surge being abused in japan. Looks like its had a hard life.

alot of work gone into this so far looking good man , under the car looks good aswel:nice:
