Passenger rear side ride height needs sorting, will do when i get a chance. The bush on that lca is ****ed so not sure if thats making it a bit lower! I defo made sure both rear sides were equal in measurement!

I also sourced an ek9 dash from a company in Sheffield :)

100_3731.jpg

Moving on (the links are for the threads i started on civiclife.net so ignore them if you cant log onto there!) -

Basically as you know i purchased a double din ek9 dash, heater controls, cage, loom and vents. Alot of people were asking how to do this swap, you will need

- Ek9 Heater Matrix Facelift (i also got the blowers and ac unit with it too)
- Ek9 Heater Matrix Facelift loom
- Ek9 Cage Facelift (dont essentially need this but it has points where the main heater controls will screw onto)
- Ek9 Heater Controls Facelift + Loom
- Ek9 Dash (Dont need this but its black compared to my ej9 grey dash)

Only problem atm im facing is my rear dismisters dont work :S But ill be checking over fuses to see if a fuse has blown.

And a day to do it all!

As you know i wanted to do the ek9 double din swap as my heater matrix was leaking.

Heres the full story for those who want to read: http://www.civiclife...__fromsearch__1

Ill start with what happend first

- Bought a Miracle drying cloth via clean-your-car

666-1.jpg

- Massive!

777-1.jpg

- Washed my carpet and mats again for the second time :(

888-1.jpg

- Pics with some of the homies

222-4.jpg

- Raised it from the back as it was too low, perfect ride height now (for those wondering, i cracked my lip from the mounting point, but im going to get it painted before mimms so no worries :))

111-4.jpg

- Purchased some block-off's for the engine bay

444-2.jpg

- Fitted

555-1.jpg

- Got my EK9 Double Din Facelift dash

999-1.jpg

- Had a few issues, read here - http://www.civiclife...__fromsearch__1

- TYPE R y0!

1111.jpg

- Dash stripped for the third time..

2222.jpg

- Messsyyy

3333-1.jpg

- Ek9 Dash at top, ej9 dash and cage, and then ek9 heater matrix and blowers (the company forgot to send the cage, as stated in the thread above)

4444-1.jpg

- Random during shot

5555.jpg

- ALL FITTED!

6666.jpg

8888.jpg

- No airbag tho, so will need a carbon block of from teishi soon!

7777.jpg

- Then all hell broke lose..my heater matrix was leaking for the FOURTH MUTHEF*CKING TIME!

9999.jpg

11111-4.jpg

- Teh fook y0? It was the worst this time, Flood city!

22222-3.jpg

- Tho after alot of research, thought it was the hoses which needed changing as we used some knackered ones last time, Read here - http://www.civiclife...__fromsearch__1

- COOLANT FOR DAYS (also bought new hoses to use, read thread above)

33333-1.jpg

- Poor VOF

44444.jpg

- Didnt let this phase us, thought **** it. Lets take it out for the fourth time, change o-rings and also Tiger seal was applied. Got up early and started. Original plans were to get the whole thing reconditioned, but he wanted £75 for that..so thought changing o-rings and somehow getting a sealant around it should work!

55555.jpg

66666.jpg

- HEATER MATRIX FOR DAYS

77777.jpg

- Got my ek9 cage finally, as you can see it has mounting points in the middle for the oem ek9 center heater controls (bent and rusted to f00k may i add)

88888.jpg

- Mr, Mo's Teg, how does he keep it so clean!?

99999.jpg

- Oh another teg came along to help :) TypeRiter, best dc5 ive seen in the flesh! Awesome guy too..

111111.jpg

- Oh..also picked up these..

222222.jpg

- Genuine Arc Winglets baby! + OEM decal!

333333.jpg

444444.jpg

Finished late, went for a spirited drive and there is NO LEAK!!!

Finally can get **** going for mimms..

Plans are

- Paint Lip + Fit Arc's
- Refurb wheels
- Re-fit interior
- Wash Recaro's
- Touch up paint for the bay

Less then three weeks, lets go!

The next day i got a bit more done, bought some Plastic primer, Matt black paint and went Tescos for some Woolite Fabric Cleaner

Unfortunetly Tesco didnt have the Woolite Fabric Cleaner so i had to made do with Autoglym Interior Shampoo!

Heres how i started,

Firstly Removed the Rails -

Seats1.jpg

Seats2-1.jpg

Area for them to be washed! -

seats3.jpg

Got the hoover, pressure washer, interior shampoo and a spray bottle filled with hot water so i can spray it to lubricate the seats again as whilst im cleaning on an area, the others were getting dry.

Seats4.jpg

seats10.jpg

How dirty they were, i focused mainly on the drivers side as the passenger side was always removed when working on the dash, so it was already clean! -

seats5.jpg

seats6.jpg

seats7.jpg

seats8.jpg

Gave them a squirt with the pressure washer, and dirt was just flowing off! Dirty Water -

seats9.jpg

All clean :D Just got to wait for them to dry, will be putting them on the Halogen heater.

seats11.jpg

I used a microfiber to wipe the seats and squeezed the water into this bucket, Dirty water! -

seats12.jpg

Will update again hopefully tomorrow if im not buzy, with them fitted to the car. Going to paint the rear plastics aswell and re-fit my rear seats!

Heres an update on the seats. Most of the water was dry after i left them outside, so brought them inside and stuck the halogen heater on them. Gave the seats a turn every 30mins, facing them a differernt way so each area could get dry. Could see the water steaming off!

Seats111.jpg

seats222.jpg

Before i fitted everything back in the car, gave it a proper clean with the water squirter from yesterday, and stuck the carpets, seats and plastics back in.

seats333.jpg

Couldnt have asked for a better result!

seats444.jpg

seats555.jpg

seats666.jpg

I also painted my rear plastics today, but bastard neighbour was cutting down tree's and pieces of wood were being flaked everywhere! I had no where else to paint them so will continue them next week :) Theyve been primered in Plastic primer and two coats of Matt Black, will give them the third coat next week :)

seats777.jpg

Going to get a couple bodyshop quotes on the lip and wheels this week =D

Nice updates there mate love reading this build so many things have changed and you like to do as much as you can your self!! Makes It all worth while hands down to you mate looks perfect! :nice:

Thanks guys!

Yeah doing it yourself with help of friends is so much better then taking it to somewhere which might not give your car the same respect!

Plus you learn alot :D Makes you more better at doing anything DIY.

More updates sooon

jheez i want those seats, wanna swap for anniversary editions? :D

I love mine atm, uber clean. I do also love the anniversary ones, but mine are faultless so dont see any reason to change :)

Ill put em up for sale when i can afford some bride!

Thanks matt.

Heres the updates to what happend before the recent south mimms meet.

Well as you know i put my rear seats back in and sprayed my rear plastics -

mim8.jpg

I wouldnt recommend doing this as the paint chips off so easy, and the heat from the rear bulbs has melted away alot of the paint. Even tho i used scotch pads, plastic primer it didnt stick as good as i thought it would. Going to get some ek4 ones when i can.

Pond clearance :D

Pre Mimms collection of stickers and little mods to go on -

133131313.jpg

Ive always wanted to paint the wheels white. Always had in my mind a Grey Ek on white RPF1's and a white bay. I thought about getting the wheels refurbished. Then began the long search of finding a company who could do it less then a week before mimms. I needed the wheels done asap, and i couldnt find a big enough company who actually took the tyres off and refurbed the whole wheel - instead of those mobile companies who just do the outside - I went with BJV Engineering.Took them a week to do.

After an interesting journey through country roads in my own car (scrape scrape scrape) - dropped the wheels off

mim2.jpg

Got the lip painted and damage fixed -

mim3.jpg

BJV Dont paint plastic centre caps, so i had to paint my honda centre caps myself. Got some in a rattle can alongside some touch up paint for my bay -

mim4.jpg

Wheels were going champ white -

mim5.jpg

Got the scotch pad on the caps, and gave them 3 coats of high build primer and 3 coats of champ white -

mim7.jpg

Got the centre caps all dry and fitted the honda stickers -

mim10.jpg

Also painted my shifter in matt black as it was getting rusty flakes of dust for some reason -

mim6.jpg

All done, really happy with the result -

mim9.jpg

Ordered some enkei stickers..then i realized one are too big and the other are too small! So i need the size in the middle which ill order soon. IIRC the closest match i could work out was somthing like 52mm long and 12mm height -

mim11.jpg

Picked up the wheels. A friend said to make sure i was happy with the wheels as he had gone back three times due to over runs ect. I wasnt really happy but it wasnt a bad job. I Mean you would have to be REALLY picky to have them do it again. Plus with mimms so close i took them and paid the company. Id give the wheels 7.5/10 -

mim14.jpg

Got my centre caps fitted -

mim13.jpg

Spent like 2 hours polishing and waxing my wheels. Didnt have any other wheels sealant so just used AG SRP and AG HD Wax -

mim12.jpg

Stickers fitted (opted to use the small ones for now) -

mim15.jpg

mim16.jpg

Then decided to fit my arc winglets after i fitted the new decal. I need some smaller stickers as the ones i got are too big. Theyre from sumopower -

mim17.jpg

After my 6 hour wash, polish, wax, fit wheels, lip ect - the lip cracked in the same spot again. Really put a downer on the whole day as everything else was so mint!

Going to go back and have the painter plastic weld it, or use rivets or somthing to stop it breaking. This is the third time its going to be fixed there. Its an OEM Mugen lip, so is made out of abs therefore a tight fit so with a little bit of pressure it broke. Even tho i had three people helping me fit it lol -

mim18.jpg

All done! I also changed the amber bulbs from the chrome to normal amber bulbs as theyre a bit more brighter imo :) -

Untitled-3-3.jpg

Was really happy bar from the lip breaking as i managed to fix the coolant leak aswell.

Met Tuan and Thoung at 9.30am before mimms and decided to wash the cars (2nd time for me in 2days lol), got his car lowered and washed aswell. Then met up with Hitmo and Typewriter for the convoy to mimms :)
