Hi all. I have a ek4 b18c4 engine. upgrading the front and rear discs and have run into prolblems with the rear caliper carriers. This is what i have found out.

Civic mb6 and rover 600 front caliper and carriers are exactly the same and bolt straight onto ek hub. (Need 2mm milling off the carrier to ensure the disc is central)

However i aquired rover 600 rear calipers and carriers. The calipers are exactly the same as the Mb6 and accord etc. but the carriers from the rover do not fit the hub as the bolt hole locations are closer together.

My question therfore is which caliper carriers will fit in order to mount the carrier?

I have been told rover 180 and 160 might fit and also the integra.
Thanks for your replies

Hi. After a lot of phone calls and browsing i have now found out this.
To fit a rear caliper carrier/bracket to the hub the distance between the bolt mounting holes must be 4 inches in order to fit on any ej ek civic.

You are correct itg and ek9 are what i need but quite expensive and rare.

The mg zr 160 and mg zs 180 have exactly the same carriers with the distance 4 inches. Cheaper option!!

Regarding calipers Some rover 600's, accords, mb6 civic have the same rear and front calipers as the ek9 or dc2 (280mm front and 260mm rear). I know this because i have a pair on the front with 280mm discs with mb6 calipers. However for the rear these cars have a different caliper bracket with the distance for the mounting holes less than 4 inches apart.
Went to the scappy today and low and behold a rover 600. The calipers front and rear are exactly the same as the mb6 (280mm and 260mm). Got them for 20 quid as spares!! Also there was a accord 94 model again same calipers.

So basically upgraded to 280mm front and 260mm rear for under 60quid!! :nice:

also quick question. regarding proportioning valve which one do i need. I have removed the abs. Due to removing the abs unit i needed a proportioning valve with 6 flanges not 4. Got one from a Ej9 1.4 and this setup seems to work fine. Is this correct and where does it say the ratio i.e 40/40.
Thanks again for all your help.

Nice modification.
I was looking for rear brake upgrade.
From which car did you take the rear calipers and the rear discs 260mm.
Did you installed them?
May we have photos?

i took the rear discs from mg zr 160 or mg zs180. Rear caliper carriers and rear calipers.
There is a complete new conversion if you look on ebay under mg ("MG ZR 160 AND ZS 2.5 COMPLETE 260 MM REAR BRAKE KIT").
These are a direct fit i installed them myself easy peezie. Same with the fronts (280mm). However i have found that rover 600 rear calipers also fit but the carriers don't for these you need the mg zr/zs carriers! (the only difference in the actual rover 600 calipers is the handbrake bracket is on the other side.)

I will upload photos soon. New to ek9. org
