got an s80 box how to i tell if its 4.4 or 4.7 fd?

If there is a stamp on the motor that says J4D that is a 4.4, but if the stamp says N3E then it is 4.785.

If no stamp exists (washed off) then you must open the case and count the ring gear.

4.400 = 66 teeth
4.785 = 67 teeth
4.929 = 69 teeth
