Not Happy!

Well, story starts from the wanted thread. I saw a response to a facelift ek9 grill which he had so i contacted him. I asked him how much he wants and a picture and of what condition the grill was in, this is the picture i got:

And he said it was in "good condition". The original price he gave wasn't accepted by me and I made him an offer, of which we didn't negotiate to at that point, but as i wasn't too fussed, i just said for him to contact me if he changes his mind. Later on, i guess he did change his mind and payment was sent immediately.

Now, this is what i recieved:

The whole grill has chips and scuffs at the top, which weren't pictured, nor were they described! If the seller had described this to me, it would have affected the sale as I wouldn't have gone through with it!

The best bit; the excuses:

Steven says:

"i sold it to you for £70 not for £80 and i sent it first class to you which costed me £10 so i only made £60 for the grille.
What more could you ask for?"

"Theirs no point argueing because i can't do anything soo.................."

"The grille is USED not brand new so obviously there is going to be some scratches.
The grille is not brand new!"

"i wrote this onto a want to buy thread for someone else and you jumped in for the grille, i didn't make an official for sale thread for the grille and you rushed through the sale of the grille at 11pm to 12pm."

My problem: information about the condition of the grill was ommitted from the deal taking place, information of which could have resulted in me not going further with the deal. The item was well packed so these marks and scratches (worse than they are in the pics i took!) were there before and he knew about it. From the responses that i have recieved from steven, i can only assume that he is a child and his not being a man about the situation.. LOL!

Sorry for the long winded post, just not happy!!

as buyer said grille isnt brand new so u can expect some slight grazings and stone chips however a better qaulity of descripiton would help. not taking sides as i dont know what the deal was between yous two and what was said however things like this have been coming up more frequesntly on the forum

Good condition means good condition. Used items can still be of good condition, they don't have to be brand new, to be of good condition! A little honesty would have gone a long way. Like I said, if the item had been described as how it actually was, then I wouldn't have gone ahead with the sale.

done some digging and the user doesnt have a reputation thread so i cant move this. That is what the reputation section is for so you can make sure the user you are dealing with has a good rep, although the user in question has 200 posts or so most are in the "want to buy" and "for sale section" which would maybe ring a bell or 2 for me personally.
At the end of the day whats done is done and agree the user could of gave a better description of the item but imo i wouldnt be 100% keen on dealing with anyone i didnt know or who didnt have a good rep on the forum.
Sorry for your troubles mate and if you have any other problems dont hesitate to drop me or any of the mods a pm and we'll do our best to assist you :nice:

Gav/mod team.

This is something everyone gets once in a while, sometimes I've received items too which I myself would not class as good condition though the seller would. Always ask for detailed pictures of any damage.

Well after saying its good condition and being sent that picture, how was anyone supposed to know of the actual condition? If he had said, "its in used condition", then maybe I would have had indication to ask for detailed pics. The responses from him are also pathetic.

Mate, if you wanted more pictures and info you should have asked me, did i make a description thread? NO, if i did then i would of described the condition. i'm a noob at selling stuff so what more could you expect. As i said the grille is not BRAND NEW.

The only reason why your actually going through all this trouble is because that your doing a pre-facelift front end swap for a facelift AND you know that you made a big mistake in buying the facelift grille because the person that your doing the swap with already has a facelift grille and you know that you don't have any use for this one.

The person whos facelift conversion im doing with has stone chips on his grill, therefore i wanted a "good condition" one! You never gave full information about what you are selling, it doesnt take a genius to figure out that you should be honest about what you are selling! if your a noob at selling things and you cant do such a minor task, then stop selling! This item is not in good condition as per seller said.

want to take it to PM please guys.

Tbh the grill ain't that bad, wee bit of polish, tar remover etc will do the trick, when it's on the car, you won't see the little scrapes on the top.
Like Steven says it's not brand new,

Hard to say what's in good condition and what's bad, as said before some ones good is either like brand new or just a few scratches. Bad- paint flakin, cracked etc...

You didn't ask for more detailed picture.

I didn't think Steven mean to do anything like that in purpose, altho you might should of said there's a few scratches.

I duno either of yous so am not taking sides.... Just saying....

End of the day, transactions done.... How yous going to resolve?

Can either sell it on if your really unhappy with it

Or get it painted, not exactly gonna cost you am arm n a leg is it, maybe Steven and pay half and you pay half providing an invioce.....

Just some thoughts

end of the day personally I feel there was slight fault from both guys, yes maybe a better description would have been a lot better but on the other hand I always ask for more that one picture of an item but maybe thats just me. its all done now, its happened to every person on the forum before I would imagine just got to take it on the chin in my opinion

Jesus, paying 70 for a new grill when you already have one just because it has scratches? Could respray it yourself for less than £10. Even paying a professional to respray it would have worked out cheaper.

Could of saved yourself a lot of bother, just my opinion!
