Strange noise coming from gearbox

I will do mate, I'll keep this updated. Should have new clutch fitted next month.

Thanks again pal

Just make sure to get an OEM release bearing regardless of what clutch you use, because after market ones tend to wear out soon.

Yeah make sure to get a Honda oem release bearing as the ones included in those kits are crap. @Dan it's nearly always the release bearing so don't worry about it been the mainshaft bearing inside gearbox. I was doing a gearbox build recently and the mainshaft bearing fell apart, ball bearings all over the place. Gathered them up and put it back together and it doesn't make any noise so there pretty solid IMO lol

thanks for the advice mate :nice: makes me feel a bit more confident.

How much is the OEM release bearing? Anyone have a part number?

22810-P21-003 the three last digits might be different in the UK as i have noticed crosschecking PN with the EPC in my country. price shown in the EPC is 41.52€ but again retail price is different.

edit: i`ve come across 22810-P21-003A as well for the same part.

Nice one pal, the first number you stated was correct :nice:

Repped.

I have this same problem, so replaced the release bearing, still no look, replaced the flywheel bearing still no look! so im guessing its the mainshaft. it makes a noise when in neutral with clutch released then stops once clutch is pressed down then when i pull away in 1st you can hear it and when i slow down and change down gear at junctions you can hear it! anyone shed extra light on this?

thats the main shaft bearing mate, mines also doing the same. Anyone know how difficult these are to change / price etc ??

Mine is the same main shaft bearings making very loud noise , took her to honda for a free health check and they told me its noisey bearings main shaft. quoted me £770 to fix and said it could be more once he opened the box . Im looking for a second hand box.

Input shaft bearing. Exactly same problem here, anyone know if this would also contribute to slight grinding?
Also I changed my clutch to an exeedy kit last year and also using the bearings that came with it however I haven't had any problems with them so id give them a thumbs up
