Stuck rear brake caliper

that isnt a rebuild kit, its just all seals, basically precaution/maintenance item, if piston is shot you would have to buy piston and then simply worth replacing with new seals

The problem of the caliper was the piston with some deep scoring.

Here is the piston


This one cannot be saved, I have to order a new one.

Sorry to revive this old thread but my car has just started doing this... got out after a 15 min drive back from work and the rear of the car was making a weird creaking noise... also there's loads of heat coming off the rear left disc.

Jacked the car up - when you spin the wheel there is a very light amount of resistance (and noise...)

Also couple of beads of melted metal around the pads:

Do I need a new caliper too?

When my VTI rear caliper started cooking the pads it was just a VERY sticky slider..

the caliper bolts into them.. they get stuck quite a bit on other cars..

id check them before ordering a caliper.. as mentioned earlyer they are expensive !!!!

Thanks mate, will get the sliders checked first... fingers crossed its a cheap solution.
