wtf is it with the hype around takata harnesses? personally i think they look shat as they are possibly the most random colour ever!!!! You can get a harness thats probably as good if not better for half the price of one of these green jobbies!!
So...why the hype...??

Once you strap yourself in you more or less turn into Tsuchiya ahaha. :secret:

+adds a good amount of JDM scene points.

Then again I cant talk, I`ve just purchased one. It is a bit of a hype but then again they`re a top quality product!
 
But theres no way that there harness are 200 quid better than say Sabelt or Schroth! How many takatas do you see in wrc or touring car??? Id place a fairly safe guess at maybe 15% of the race car world and i bet nearly all of those cars are racing in japan. I just dont get it sorry mate, you can chuck all the literature and internet speal you want at me, i still dont see that they are THAT much better
 
Utter overpriced overhyped decent harnesses.

When's the last time you saw rally/f1/TC using takata? My harnesses were made in uk and are FIA and cost £110.
 
Im looking at buying a set of 4 points and the price difference is rediculous! This is why i put this post up, i notice a lot of JDM lovers running them, but are they just blinded by that dodgy green colour, or is it just me that would rather get a harness thats just as good if not better for circa £250?? :S
 
Those stupid resivoir socks p*ss me off too. Silly fire hazard, only used by Honda fans...

The Toyota F1 team used them and Takata used to have there own NSX in JTCC
 
Funny though how some other harness manufacturers started to produce a similar green colour

I could easily afford them mate ;) So you saying that because they have 3 different R&D departments around the world that they are 3 times better?? Does a harness work differently in japan than it does in the usa?
Maybe its got something to do with continental drift maybe?

I never said that they were a crap harness or 'bashed' their reputation, i was mearly trying to find out how they can stick an extra 200- 300 quid on the competitors price when they are clearly NO better. Its not like they are made out of some super titainium kevlar thread weaved by romainian mountain goats in the andes.
 
Im starting to think you must get paid for massaging their hype...... ;)
 
Their race harnesses are probably a small segment of their income but may use the same manufacturing processes as seen in aircraft belts using the same machines etc , so maybe they have to have that price tag to make it viable to them.

Things are only worth what people pay for them. Takata have history of great products and that's what you buy into
 
That's why I got a set of Willans, good enough for F1 drivers since the beginning and british made too!

Anyway I think it's overpriced tat.
