Hi all i just thought i would share my experiance with the tegiwa decats. To be quite honest i have never ever seen such a bad design in my life. Basically its in 3 sections, one end bolts to the cat other end bolts to catback but the middle piece is a slip fit and doesnt need and clamps!! It is the worst thing i have ever seen, fitted it and it was blowing its tits off so i took the car back up in the air to discover you could basically move it with no effort. I have a video that i will up load when im home so you can all see. I rang tegiwa and asked them were the clamps were, he said there are none. As you could imagine i was quite shocked at this point. So i said how do you expect to seal it, he replyed there slip fit. Then he went on saying that they have sold 100s off them and not one has came back, bollocks cause i read up on civiclife about these.

I cant see why they make such rubbish stuff and charge top money for it. I can see why they got run off civiclife. Should be tge same on here also they shouldnt be aloud to sell as a vendor.

In there defence they did let me send it back and issued me a full refund even though i had used it for all of 5 minutes. So in that repect customer service is spot on but quality of parts is discusting.

3 of my cars are using these and never had a problem, one has clamps on and its perfect

Hi,

I genuinely cannot remember the last time we had one of these decats back. The video you sent me showed you pulling back on the exhaust springs to the manifold which is meant to happen, and had nothing to do with our decat anyway? It wasn't very clear anyway.

To quote an email that Luke sent you;

Here are some examples of these systems:

Omni Power USA, Inc - Still Going
https://www.privatelabelmfg.com/product_p/plm-tp-03.htm
Adjustable Test Pipe 2.5 inch for JDM Header B / K Swap - VEL-TP-1 - Velocityshop
Honda Integra Adjustable De-cat / Test Pipe by: JPerformance -
Decat adjustable exhaust pipe 2" diameter for Honda Integra DC2 (UK) Civic (88-00)
TEGIWA 2.0" DECAT PIPE ADJUSTABLE SLIP FIT DE CAT

As you can see they are sold from many different companies and none of them supply clamps. Now I know this system might look unusual to you but it works very well.

Regarding your needs. If you have a Fujitsubo RM01A and a Fujitsubo Manifold you will need to only use the 2 parts or more suitable you could use this:

TEGIWA 2.5" DECAT DE CAT PIPE JDM FIXED LENGTH

I am sorry that you were not happy with this product but I am glad to hear that the matter was resolved quickly and to your satifaction (which makes this topic a bit pointless IMO?). Regardless, I hope we can be of service again.

Thanks, Matt

I had the same when I got my de-cat.

I assumed it had to be welded to make it gas tight as the pipes were loose. I didn't mention anything to tegiwa at the time as I thought that's how they were made.

Its a pipe, for crying out loud, with a flange on each end.

How hard could it possibly be to alter, adjust, make it conform to your needs?
But please don't answer that last question.

Not sure where mine's from as I got it 2nd hand, but it's the same sort of design. Just seal it up with some half decent red rtv silicon.

i have one of these to my spec 2 and it doesnt fit quite right i just thought it would be me and me only.. i guess not... it does rattle alot at high revs!

thats a shame looks like i need a new decat now

adjust it to whatever length you need then weld it up or use some exhaust putty to seal it up. simple solutions available.

Well funky power adjustable decats fit very well nice fit, doesnt blow and no movement at the manifold. Doesnt rattle ect. Why would you wanna pay £65 posted and have to spend more money time and effort trying to get it to work as it should. I could understand if it was £30 but £65 come on now.

not arguing but why didnt you just get a funky power one if you know there better? iv had a funky power one it was spot on. tegiwa do some cracking stuff atleast there trying!

i have got a funky power one, just thought id give tegiwa a chance

would you be happy with this on your car?

ooooo that doesnt look good! i did have a funky power one, was a good bit of kit for the money!

I forgot about the auto-word correction on CL - TEGIWANK . Although I haven't had the best past experience with them, I may give their 'X-brace' a shot... Of course though, it'll be used just to mount my camera.

There manifolds are really good, and would defenatly get another one.Its just parts like this were they slack. They have good parts bud if the quality was better id be a regular customer.

Do you mean like 5 days later when you ordered another part from us?

Well i actually orded the skunk 2 bushes first, there not your own enginered parts. I hope they are direct from skunk 2 as you said they were.

Had mine about 18 months, fitted to my dc2 originally now on my ek9, had to alter the length when I changed over which was easy as I had tack welded it first time, just had to cut & reweld in place. No issues in either fitment, although I plan to weld it completely this time as it does leak a little when cold.

Tony

Anyone suggest a good 2.5 adjustable decat other than funky power? Has the tegiwa decat improved?

I am looking to buy one asap.
