Hi can't seem to shift my b18c/r ek9 I've been thinking of selling the b18c-r and buying the b18c4 and a basic turbo kit what are you thoughts of me thinking of doings this my mate thinks I should just leave it as it is but I'm wanting more power and is there a reason why they recommend you use the b18c4 for the turbo than the b18c/r

The combustion chambers etc are much better suited to boost too I believe, engines are much cheaper too so you can put the difference toward a turbo kit :)

just run a thicker head gasket and boost away. you'll make more power due to the better head setup of the ITR engine, better cams, the minor port work, the larger IM/TB.

Don't think so I'm looking into turbo and if I can use my b18c happy days, ide have no problem selling the motor if I really wanted to!!, but if I can use my b18c I'm happy with that, now what is your opinions on the race tec turbos?

It's the cylinder head that's reported to be better for boost. Quench pads or something around the spark plug area.

All b-series vtec heads are great for boost, one is not better than the other, i have seen both cylinder heads make 1000whp, end of story.

Both heads have there pros and cons, you could argue the b16/ type r head flows more.

To the op, use what you have, I don't know why you would want to go backwards, the compression ratios of the engines are not regarded as high by most anymore, with the right tuning methods it will be a great engine.

1000whp, that is just silly whp levels...but hey if it can be done why the heck not, right? lol Sorry a bit off topic.

Above, Blinx is correct, as usual. :nice:
