This could be an end to modified cars in the UK

This kicked off a while ago for motorbikes. To the point of only OEM tyres, it's EU rubbish.

Doubt it will go ahead as with most of these rumours.

If it does, ek9 track car and a cheap run around. Solved

Did the MOT test changed earlier this year as well, so you must run air bags if originally fitted?? This just sounds like a big deal for modfied cars, is this saying the car must be complety stock if this legislation passes??

It's not going to be anything like it's made out to be.

That said, if it is, I'll have no qualms driving an illegal car.

Things like this pop up all the time. I doubt it will pass though, think of the amount of tuning companies that would HAVE to close due to their stock being completely illegal. I would still modify my car and put it on the road either way, and I'm sure a LOT of us would do the same.

I don't like the thought of getting my car trailered to events just because the government deem it illegal.

This has been doing the rounds for years and years. The fact that it would make companies like Halfords, demon-tweeks etc all go bust in an already failing economy reiterates the fact it's nonsense.

Just sorn your car and refuse to buy another.
Once the governments realise they aren't collecting any duty from fuel, insurance, MOT's etc they'll be crying for us to get our cars back out.

Basically if any thing as stupid as this is ever bought to law i will personally go and kill the goverment like expendables. Now whos with me

As its been said the government wouldnt kill off this industry and put all those people out of jobs. not just the companies who sell the bits but places that hold shows for modified cars, magazines that feature that feature them and insurance companies that specialise in modified car insurance.

stock legal cars takes an even better driver to make go fast...might save some lives too. ;)

This is bs, although if I were asked to take a test to prove my **** was ligit I would not be worried, may help get some of the **** of the roads that are modified by idiots, 206 lexus lights etc barry boys in their saxos with bodged engine conversions. Being a Snap-on dealer I see many garages every day and the amount of poorly modified cars I see on ramps is outrageous, some even make you cringe with pidegon **** weld, cable ties for every thing.

Yeas and also ALL the people the modify their cars properly!! Like I'd say every member of ek9.org.... if there is a 9 on here that's not modified at all ill be VERRY surprised!!

Some modifications are just good sense as well, quite a lot of the time manufacturers cut corners and produce cars with problems that need solving like my VX220 had the world's worst ABS which I replaced with an Exige ABS ECU and my MX5 had no roll-over protection so I bought a rollbar to avoid head splats.
