k so i got a b16b with origonal s4c lsd equiped gearbox...when shifting it makes just one thunk when going into the next gear..... any thoughts???

Try changing gearbox oil? put some fresh honda mtf oil in there if not. After that I would be checking the clutch slave cylinder.

make a video and post it up.

Broken torque mounts perhaps?

its not loud i can just feel it........
ya blinx it pretty much does it in every gear but its only when i'm driving like a grandma and shift around 3k.....if i rev it to 4.5-5k and above it doesnt do it??? weird

hmm, i am going in the same direction as RA, maybe not tq mounts, maybe end links are broken or a bushing is worn and you can't hear it in higher rpm because the car is louder. It's very rare to have EVERY gear make noise, i would try to narrow down where the noise is comming from and take a look under the car.

I would take Blinx advice and try to eliminate certain possible causes. If it is clunking into every gear then the clutch might not be clearing properly so I would try bleeding the clutch 1st of all. Also you would be suprised how much difference gear oil makes so make sure thet it is the right grade and in is filled properly, a temporary solution is to use 10w40 engine oil in honda boxes and works perfect tho needs to be changed more often than mtf because it sheers down faster.

It might not be the gearbox at all and could be movement in a ball joint or driveshaft making the noise!

ok guys its going up on the rack tomorrow...its got fresh honda mtf in it but i'll check to make sure the fluid level is ok and make sure shift linkage is tight and bushings are good.....check torque mounts see what i find

mounts prob mate, ive known them to make similar noises with worn mounts.

thanks for all the replies.....hopefully get it all sorted this weekend!!! :)

i ordered a set of torque mount inserts this weekend as i checked mine and they were pretty perished, so it may be that mate :)

ok so it went up and i decided whilst it was gonna be up in the air i would put my saybar on lol...so got that on there...... checkd the shift linkage cause it always seemed like slop in the linkage but all was good noticed a spot where the exhaust was bumping against the body but later last night found out that only touched when i launch the car.
then, again, while it was in the air...i decided to change oil. so got that done checked all mounts, found driver side torque mount pretty stressed and starting to seperate. so i ordered one of those... and decided to take my heavy skunk2 **** knob off and that helped a LOT...so decided i need to order a mugen or spoon knob(any opinions on those two knobs?) and didnt have time to check gear oil..... going back up 2nite to check that and giving her a bath also!
