Toyo r1r very good track tyres

Spoke to my tyre fitter and he said these are pants, Toyo are just trying to fill a gap in the market.

floppy as **** in corners unless u get a low profile. i'm staying away from them. for the money i think prada sepc2's are better.

No way are prada spec 2's as good as R1R. Different league of tyre.

You sure you're not confusing them with T1R?

parada melt easy the same r1r do
BUT paradas when worn they loose grip a lot easyer than r1r's.

Hahaha, thats crap. R1R's are far superior to the prada spec2's. i ran them on track for a little while but i reached the limit of them very quickly, i also monstered them, ripped them to shreds. mind you i find that the 888's understeer when hot.

I considered them before deciding that since the other guys at the track are all using S tyres, I want to, as well.
I am going from Advan AD07s to probably A050, depending on availability before April 11: my next track day.
I was considered the 888s, but after reading a lot of opinions, and looking at most of the Japanese time attack cars etc...I decided that Dunlop 03G and Advan A050 seem to be the runaway favorites...
Probably more to do with sponsorships than anything, but oh well, I will see how they go.... The price of the TOYO is pretty tempting though!

S tyres??

R1R for street

888 for track

they're the same compound as the R888 GG. Would slight design differences in the carcass/sidewall and tread pattern really make that much of a noticeable performance difference?

Are you sure? ;)

The Parada Spec 2 is really Yoko's budget tyre cleverly branded to sell to the masses.

The R1R is a VERY different tyre to the T1R.

Sorry, Lee.
S Tyres is what 'semi slick' or 'R compound' are called in Japan.

R888, 03g, re11s, re55s, a048, a050, etc...
