blinx9900 said:.50 is MUCH too small, im assuming thats the a/r ratio? if so you need a least .63 also if you can afford it get a ball bearing turbo, it makes a HUGE difference!!! i have one and i love it!! how much power are you expecting to make? and what compression ratio are you going to go with? also are you going to keep the stock sleeves? are you gonna keep it a 1.6? becuase its a lot cheaper to build it as a 1.8 since NOBODY makes rods for b16b and custom cost $8-900, but eagle sells a 1.8 crank with forged rods for $550 which is much cheaper than custom rods AND you get a 1.8
u mention all Tuning companies. These people have the funds to experiment and get it right they have the funds. But what about the common man he does not have money popping out of every cavity in his body. Turboing is expensive.Look if absolutelysideways wants to turbo his ek9 thats fine ! its his car and his choice at the end of the day if it goes tits up he still has the b16b to put back in to go back to N/A cos he's already said that he's turbo'ing a b18 motor ,and loads of japanese tuners have succesfully turbo'ed ek9s ,top fuel's ek9 350 bhp ,hks ek9 350 bhp, cruise's ek9 650 bhp, to name a few ,im saying all this and im die hard N/A honda ,but i believe that everyone should be individual and do as they please with there own cars

If u have the funds fine blow up your TYPE-R engine then get a new one its just a shame that one of the greatest automotive creations ever is destroyed and in the junk
agree with you to a point there, sure, tuning companies have cash to experiment but thats why im replacing 99% of the b18c with upgraded parts...
also for the less educated a n/a engine can also be blown due to bad tuning
you seem very sure i will blow up the b18 type r engine but you have no idea of the work thats gonna go into this
instead you are speaking like as if your some honda authority when in fact you seem to be a common narrow minded n/a nobody....please stop spamming the post,if you aint got anything good to say, dont bother
hey blinx,
yeh i missed that post through all the hating lol...i am going for the dc2 engine mate (i think its the b18c?),engine will be getting a Full rebuild with everything needed, new sleeves, rods, pistons, bearings etc etc etc ,and the turbo in the first post was just one i was looking at(not the one im going to buy),im looking for say 300whp mate, can you suggest any kits? ballbearing sounds great!
my aim is to do this once and get it right so going for the full rebuild even though it will cost me £££££
No blinx blew it because of bad tuning he said so himself.
Any way forget it just do what makes u happy.
I just want Blinx to put back the cautions its only fair
jUST FORGET ABOUT THE WHOLE THING JUST DROP IT
amen
absolutlysideways if your going to sleeve it you should bore it to 84mm, then if you use a b18c crank you will have a 2.0 thats a very popular turbo engine set up over here, my friend had that exact set up with the GT3076R and he made 500whp and ran 10.xx in 1/4mile!!
Nice setup! what should be the rev limit for this setup? 8400 rpm max?
You should get into the 12's easy with a turboed b18 lump i know a lad who is running a jackson racing supercharger with standard boost on a civic jordan with a 30 shot of nos and teg type r head on his b16 bottom end and he just got a 13.09 1/4 mile at york (uk) at the weekend and he plans a forged bottom end and more boost and 75 shot of nos next time
why not go for the k20 swap it cost 6000 for the whole thing done including the engine and runs almost 13 dead stock . or do you just want to turbo it cause you like the turbo feeling ?
