i have searched through the first 5 pages of my 'tyre' search and come up with nothing conclusive. my re01r on the back will need replacing soon and i want something decent to replace them with. i have t1-r's on the front atm which im not a fan of.

i would like to try re-11 realy but just cant find them.

so suggestions on tyres please and where i can buy them.

I would say try out the Toyo R888's - heard so many good stuff about em, i brought brand new Toyo T1's just as budget tyres, they arent too bad for the price, my plan is to put the Toyo T1r's at the rear and buy 2 Toyo r888's for the front ;)

I would say have a look or even ring, camskill.co.uk

I wouldnt recommend using R888 on front and T1R at the rear on track. car will be unstable and will have tendency to oversteer because of much higher grip at the front

i bought T1R when first launched, would never run them again, i personally think some of the combinations above would be dangerous especially r888 f/t1r r combo and the re01r f / t1r r

y3lo, whats your budget ?

dont know realy ice, but i do know not to skimp out on tyres, fire over some prices of some decent tyres and i'll let you know if there too much :)

Looks like im gonna have to splash out bucks on R888's all over, seeing as the combo will be crap :(

i havnt tried it but personally but wouldnt either, for me even before trying there is just too big an imbalance between front and rear

i persoanlly dont think R888 is suitable daily driven tyre all year round, many disagree with me but too me id only run in summer (dry) and on track otherwise on daily driver all year round id have to buy about 4 sets a year and would struggle to have fun in wet/damp/cold conditions, its a very good tyre but just not for some purposes imho

give us rough price range and attributes you want in order mate, everything on top of my list simply isnt available in u.k and very very expensive

If you drive the car hard, R888 don't last, FACT

I've got some RE11 sitting in my hallway, you're right, do look like AMAZING tyres, although mate is buying them off me i'm afraid

id keep them re11 for yourself, your just gonna have headache buyin another set of high end all purpose tyres once you get rid

all round tyres i would go for yokohama parada spec2's anyday of the week . i have ran both them and the toyo r888 and for the price difference of nearly 3 times dearer i will never run r888 again . crap for the money .

i have never run the paradas but hear same comment hundreds times over about how good they are for the money and great all rounder, tyre ill prob run next as everyday tyre

They are 195/55 and are too big, need 195/50's. RE11 are a very chunky tyre and foul the arches all round, also 195/50's are THE size to run ;)

Also got some very slightly worn R888 on the back and a brand new set of 2 R888 which are going on the front tommorow, think they will do the trick fine :)

i see, i also run 50 profile, regards fouling arches the quoted figures from many manfufacturers are incorrect (no idea why they do it), something like re11 205 in reality will be about 215-220 id imagine

well i would have liked a top of the range street tyre, but it just seems so hard to get hold of them.

if You want some universal street tire, get Uniroyal Rainsport 2. quite stiff sidewall, good on dry and very good in wet. yoko parada spec 2 has rather soft sidewall, is very good in dry but catastrophic crap in wet.

i have hankook rs2's very good tyre grips really well in the dry and isnt to bad in wet either i got a set 195/50/15 balanced and fitted for 184 pound

Yokohama AD07
Yokohama AD08
Yokohama advan neova

Go to your local Lotus dealer, yokohama make specific "LTS" lotus compound tyres in the neova and AD07, S1 elise came in 195/50/15 on the front so you should be able to order these tyres straight from them

That's what I would be running if I never ran R888 :)

lts compound is different to ad07 and ad08 neither of which are available in u.k and out of your budget imported

julian at rare rims is doing group on ad08 ( says first person in u.k to bring em in), expect to pay £400-£500 though for set

cant comment on ad08 but have tun AD07 which i had imported few years back, lived up to the hype and very good, dont last great amount of miles but not designed to
