Hi,

A question for those who have visited Japan before or who live in Japan. I'm going to be visiting Japan on the 8th for a couple of weeks and since we're all into cars here, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend anywhere car related worth visiting?

I'll be visiting Tokyo, Takayama, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima and I won't have my own transport so can't get too far out of those cities. I plan on visiting the Spoon Type One shop and the Mazda factory in Hiroshima so far, so if anyone can suggest anywhere to visit I'd be grateful!

:thanks:

I believe Honda have a museum/collection hall but not sure on location :D

Yeah cheers, I remember googleing it and I think its at Motegi so unfortunately too far from Tokyo for me to get to really :(, thanks for the suggestion though!

Try and visit Spoon maybe?

I lived in Tokyo for a while, I really loved it.

Thanks tama! I'm staying near Ogikubo train station for my first 3 nights so that should be do-able :)

Someone also mentioned to me that Feel's is near there as well, is that true?

Any more info?
I may be going out tommorow, last minute thing and find a hotel out there :)

Hey mate hope you enjoy, do not go to Tokyo on the train in the morning as you will be suffocated on the train as it gets busy

Flying out today, depart in an hour! :)
Booked a capsule hotel in shinjuku and then gonna see how it goes from there!
Will make that show at the weekend it seems!
Pics to follow chaps!!!
Anyone else out there wanna meet then let me know :)

Im gonna be going to Japan next year with a friend for TAS 2014.

Sam or Jake, either one of you be ok to pm me how much this is costing you???
Just so i can get a rough idea for the price of flights, hotels etc

I work for an airline,
So my flights won't be accurate to what you would pay.
Regarding hotel, I am booked in
A budget capsule tonight which cost be £14 for the night.
Who knows where I will be tommorow, it's such a confusing place to get around!
Very hard to read what places are an roads seem illogical! It's very foreign!

Would love to visit japan oneday.

Remember and get plenty off photos!

Make sure you go "electric city" part of tokyo at night! Like being on another planet!

I see Jake, fair enough you would get a discount then i guess.

I have a rough idea as my mate was thinking going this year now and he looked up flights, was about 700ish.

Yeah, I have no clue what normal price is.
I paid £240 return :naughty:

Anyway, Tokyo is done for what I wanted to see.
Went to spoon and type one, went to twin ring motegi and met two blokes with track prepped s2k's and got a passenger ride around there! Then a lift back to near tokyo (they both drove up from Yokohama) and one spoke English very clearly.
Also did Honda collection hall while I was there.
Tokyo auto show this morning was okay, a LOT of VIP body kit stuff but was a good show and cheap (£13 entry)

Booked s night bus to Kyoto, leaves at 11pm and arrives at 7am tommorow.
Bullet train is much much quicker but mean I'm left with half a night there, and it's VERY expensive (15000yen do about £90 one way)
Where as bus cost me a third of that.

Trains are cheap otherwise to get around Tokyo, it's very easy to get lost sll the stations are huge. Think London but times ten, it's insane.

I'll update properly when back home and loads of pics to follow.
Oh also, type r wise, I haven't seen one ek9. Saw loads of nsx's at the auto salon. Tons of Honda actys but haven't seen a single type r model, lots of skylines however.
And the GT86/BRZ is HUGE out here, they are everywhere. So so common.

Anyway, pictures soon ladies

Man reading that makes me want to be there right now xD

Ill be there next year fingers crossed.
