Just a quick question, one that probably many are wondering, IMO may also help the series with more new comers etc

Will Vtec challenge ever open up a boost class??

A place where the boosted boys can finally compete against one another in a Honda only environment.

Nuno.

Have you posted this on vtec challenges forum?

Just a few comments from the Vtec Challenge boys:

"Hope not, it'll be like running badly mixed grids with the power difference.

IMO the only race a turbo FWD car should be in is a drag race."

"Yeah I think the VTC is best left N/A and to be honest, as always theres loads of poeple who say they will race their Turbo but gaurantee hardly anyone will ever turn up."

"And I dont think any would last 15 minutes anyway!"

I wouldn't let the fact the VTC is N/A only put you off if you are looking to go racing. There are loads of club level series where a turbo honda would be accepted in the regulations. Sprinting/Hillclimbing and TA too of course.

We know this buddy.

But Vtec challenge is honda only, its with like minded people.

Im a little sad people have replied with the "boost is for drag" specially when alot of known racing series, have boosted engines.

F1 will be going Boost again.

BTCC are boosted etc etc.

If the was a reply consisting of "yeah boost is a great idea but sadly its not doable do to no way of monitoring boost pressures at the reasonable costs that vtec challenge offer" then i woulda been happier chappy.

I know its never gona happen but its worth a try.

Yes, but what I'm saying is that unless people get out there racing you can't really complain. If there were a number of boosted Hondas out there racing regularly at club level then it might be different. But as it stands there's literally no one so there's not really much chance of the series opening up a class to cater to a group of competitors that doesn't actually exist.

Ye i get that buddy.

Also you can't really compare a touring car with a club level boosted fwd.

Oh right, then yeah your right lol

I would be interested in racing boosted why not run an intake restrictor like wrc, f3 etc very easy and cheap to check

because a restricted boosted b16 on a gt25 will be slower than a restricted boosted b18 on a gt30.

Nuno.

Yes so it would be down to standard tuning methods as per n/a as everyone would have the gt30 and b18 to get the most power it could be made a cheaper option by rewriting the rules to spec the engine and turbo
