Have a choice of both of these in the garage and just wondering is it worth all the hassle to drop a few kg or is there a good difference in them ? .. I'm trying to make my 9 as light as possible

Why are you asking this if your plan is to make your car as light as possible? :)

I think you can save about 2-3kg if you go for the manual windows..

Well iirc I read somewhere that they are similar weight ..

I dont have the windy ones yet . My mates has to drop them over ..

Currently no power steering, removed airbags , installed non airbag dash from ek9 lightweight, no a/c , rear stripped out , installed ctr n1 crank pulley . Removed abs

Any more advise where to save ?

sunroof light weight wheels carbon bonnet carbon tailgate, plasti windows,

I would weigh them and check. I saw someone did a comparison on a different car and the difference was in the order of sub 1kg per side. I would take a 1kg hit for the convenience TBH, but EK ones may weigh more.

Ek9 are non sunroof .. Have carbon bonnet . Need tailgate ..

Ya I think I'll just got for the windy windows . Rip out all the wiring then .. Every little helps .. I'm aiming at 1000 kg sub ek9 .. I'd like that alot :)

have you weighed your car recently?

no back seats still have plastics
no ac
ekei rpf1 wheels
de tarred the whole cabin
light weight exhaust

everything else standard on my ek4
made 1020kg on the weigh bridge

Please weigh the pair, as i would like to know as i want windies but if it's less that 1kg not much point lol

I've fitted manual windows to my EK4, the regulators are a similar weight just lighter, but i've also removed the door cards which are 2.8kg each, so overall it is lighter.

i'm sre a sub 1000 kilo EK9 is very achievable...

not much weight to be saved but have you thought about removing the passenger side mirror... Its not needed ...

remove the entire dash also :D i'm sure the plastic window option will save quite a lot of weight..

my dc2 was 950kg before cage so id be around 985-990kg now,get the gringer out and cut out any bits not need, heater box and matrix, botoom half of dash, radio, heater controls, get billet mounts and remove torque mounts, lightweight exhaust, remove recaro's and put in lightweight buckets etc etc
