What car next ??

DC5.

350Z is a car for fat men and show offs. it looks crap and weighs 2 ton. i dont understand why anyone would want it.

dc5 is like someone combined s2000 and dc2.

would you not consider a s2k?

That's what I needed to hear ! Don't know, when I spoke to some that used to own a s2000 they said it was, well ****. Which was off putting !

How about a r32/33 or even 34 skyline gtst? I have a r33 gtst with stage 2 part sitting around 350 bhp but after map I'll be around 400 bhp and there so much fun and not as lazy and some might think

If the gts models are better on insurance, I would be interested in buying. It's a skyline after all ! :)

totally agree with 689R , av just bought a dc5 , after a couple of years with out a performance car , but have had 2 ek9s and a ep3 but got to say i love the dc5 especially now its lowered .

This is the convincing I need :)

Only thing that puts me off the 350z is the lack of power they have, considering the engine size and the weight. I'd want way more power than they've got.

Yeah thats the same for me too. m3 e46 totally out does it, in power with the same 6 cylinders & weight. I was asking myself that 3.5 v6 276bhp ? Ok after 2007 it shoots to 313bhp but that's when the roadtax went silly too. It was just my mate that got the 350z idea in my head because they sound amazing !!

M3 makes sense, going to be the best all rounder for that year/money

s2000 is an amazing car dude. maximum to drive and feels/looks like a step up from a civic which i think is what you want. (however IMO no car is a step-up, only different). it is relatively cheap to run, and will not break often. parts are however expensive, this was the only downside i found when owning one, plus i wanted a civic again.

dc5 is also a great car. has the same thrashability of an older honda, but is a nicer place to be in on the motorway and that daily drive etc. it also looks super badass, and can be made rapid.

your opinion shouldnt be swayed by what car you think you should have based on income/age/lifestyle, but instead on what car you would enjoy the most and would get the most pleasure out of owning, regardless of common opinion. so many people i see nowadays going 'oh yeah e46 m3' is wild. it is a totally serious car, but dont get a car like that because you feel you should, get one because its the car you want the most.

rant over. also 350z sucks lol.

You havnt said a budget but you could get one hell of an S2k for 10K.
Or a cheaper one and then supercharge it yourself.
Skylines would be a bit of a minefield.
350Z is just a boring S2K. Not a good choice if you like Hondas.
E36 is a good shout. Have a word with StevenEK9 about cost of parts etc.
Never been in or driven a DC5 so can't help you there mate :)

Haha, this thread makes me laugh. How many of you have driven 350Z? It has the SAME power to weight ratio as S2000, but bags more torque. Yes the engine has very different characteristics from our high rev Hondas, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Unless you are just a peak power whore of course.

Get out and try them all, it is the only way. We honestly don't care what you buy, you will be driving it and it should make you happy, not us.

As has been said above, don't be swayed by others opinions. I went over to a Lotus Elise and couldn't imagine a better car for the money, lightweight, amazing handling and yet I get people who have never owned one saying how unreliable they are. Yes it's a good idea to see what's about but when it comes down to it, take the risk and try something new that appeals to you

it can have all the power you want, end of the day it is an ugly car

M3's are good cars, shame the standard seats are crap - rest of the interior makes for a pleasant place to be. nice high rev'ing engine, enough displacement that it is pretty torquey to potter about in

S2000's are really nice BUT might not be for everyone being a convertible and not a coupe etc

DC5 is a safe bet if you want something you can drive on the edge and not have to worry about putting it sideways into a hedge with it's FWD safety blanket

go out and get a run in a few cars and take it from there, everyone has different taste!

Lets not bring looks into this. To me the DC5 is one of the ugliest cars Honda ever produced, while I really like the 350Z. Doesn't mean the DC5 is a bad car, I just wouldn't buy one myself. The same applies to 350Z - you not liking the looks does not make it a bad car :)

I now find myself in this situation! Feeling the m3. If I was going honda again it would need a supercharger! Or k20 ek9.
Budget 911's coming in at 10k aswell, but likely to be dogs with problems.

Ive driven both dc5 and 350z and id say 350z, although heavy its more fun than the dc5. On looks they are on par in my opinion i like both. My brother uses his Z daily and uses between £80-100 on fuel a week which is reasonable to me as you still need to pay it haha.

But then E46 seems like the upcoming toy to be had lately. i'm personally attempting to hold back till June to decide wether i should buy another toy or just Buy a E92 M3 to be grown up a little then get a house

I dropped down to a £1500 MX5 when buying my 1st house, saved a little once completed & picked up the EK9.

It is worth getting on the ladder, I didn't think I'd ever say it but being able to do whatever you want with a place is nice.

(plastering the garage walls in HKS banners dum de dum de dum....) ;)
