Hi guys im going down to buy this kit this saturday to finally start my turbo build!

Honda : Honda B18 Turbo Kit (price drop)

Im just wondering what else do I need to run it on ultra low psi.. I dont want any real amount of boost until I can afford the parts to get it to run safe and sound!

Would this kit bolt straight on and be able to be ran at as low psi as possibley for the time being? Or would i need more parts?

you need
bigger injectors
intercooler
intercooler piping
blow off valve
waste gate
255 fuel pump
fuel pressure regulator
oil feed line for the turbo
tap the oil pan for oil return
and dont forget to get it properly tuned

Thanks for the quick reply mate :nice:

Would all that be needed even for a very small amount of boost?

I`ll look into the parts! its alot harder than i thought to locate each indivisual peice!

Yeah you'd need that for low boost.

For high boost you'd need to rebuild the block too

Saving money on buying cheap parts and cutting corners is always a bad idea on any build, especially on turbo builds! Not too many people go turbo because the costs soon mount up to do it right! Do yourself a favour and do some proper research into what all you need and what not to do! :please:

Don't buy bolt on kits. Have a look for Ricky at race-tech he specialises in turbo Honda cars. It is costy, but better to get it done once then to spend more later, on parts to put it right.

He has a turbo aerodeck, totally raped me down the m1 xD

mate i couldnt agree more. im now in the middle of a turbo build myself and i'd allowed myself a budget, ive DOUBLED it. doing it right isnt cheap. and building a cheap boosted engine will cost you a fortune in the long run. sorry to be pesamistic just saying how im finding it myself

Same thing has happened to me. I've gone over double my budget and that's on parts alone!! A friend of mine said set your budget, then triple it and that's a realistic figure for any build! I'm even considering selling all the parts and not bothering it's costing that much!

Yes I am aware that boosting is never a cheap option especially on a engine like a B16b. The parts I have got already are not cheap/**** parts But on the other hand im starting to see the scale of cost that this turbo kit will cost me :nerv:

Parts so far..

Garret T3/4 turbo
Greddy eManage ECU with ODB1 and ODB2 harness
Greddy boost/temp gauges
Greddy Turbo manifold and Downpipe
Oil feed line from pan to turbo
Bailys BOV
AEM fuel rail and reg

Parts Needed

Full FMIC kit
440cc+ injectors
255 fuel pump
ECU tune

There anything else i should be looking at?

I would bin all that greddy stuff, over priced shite.

Ive just bought the setup that was on Tmus' old car and it cost me a lot less than building my own. Ecu that was tuned by Romain at Eurospec, injectors, Pfab manifold abd downpipe, genuine garret t3/t4. Tial WG etc. You dont have to spend a massive fortune if you hunt out the second hand bargains ;) Should make around 260-280bhp on 6psi which is nothing boost pressure wise. Seams to me that everyone chases numbers when it comes to building boosted engines.

you could well do, bargins that look togood to be true usually are. i say if you go boost buy new. at least you know what you have is in good condition and you'll know the history of it.

True that i guess. By the look of the OP, he is trying to build on way too tight a budget
