What is a B18c worth

Thinking of dropping a b18c into my ek9 and i was wondering how much i should pay for one with or without gearbox. I got a quote for £2700 for one with a gearbox all pumps, loom, ecu, inlet mani and no exhaust mani. He says its only got 37 miles on it. Is that about right.
 
TBH, and this is only me personally, but I wouldn't A: Believe a word he says about the mileage and B: pay anywhere near that much for a B18C.

All you need is the bottom end. Anyone asking more than £500 is trying their luck. These are old, worn out engines now and are not worth anywhere near what people seem to think they are.
 
nice one i thought it was quite a bit he sent me some pics and the rocker cover is peeling already made me think about the mileage?
 
Probably like £1200 for a decent one with box.
Average ish.

It's a risky business buying a second hand engine, and you could stroke yours for similar money. A lot less if you do labour.
 
A B18C6 from a UKDC2 goes for £1200-1400 for a decent conversion,

A B18C from a JDM DC2 goes for £1500-1800

I paid £1500 for my complete swap for my EJ9.
 
I rather have a B18C than a B16B which goes for identical prices nowadays, more torque and power!!

£2700? That's a bargain!!!! Or, alternatively you can buy a whole teg for £2600 :D

Not my car and I've never seen it, but if you bought that and broke it for spares you might even make some money after what you have sold your b16b... £2700 for a conversion - that guy must be dreaming!

Thats nit a type r its an sir integra engine code is the same but its internals are different look wikipeadia am sure deatils are there

Potentially £600 from those figures, just for a different Ecu.

Ah, sorry, didn't realize that... In any case, there are plenty DC2s under 3k for sale. Or go to Ireland and you can get one for under 2.5k.

Was gonna say that looked familiar. Think the b18c in the sir/gsr is 176bhp anyways.

I'd convert your b16b, means you'll have pretty much a brand new engine and it'll cost less than £2700 to do.
 
ye lad like someone said come to ireland and there for f**k all over here a friend of mine had a teg type r and sold for 2k nice clean car and quick aswell perfect for conversion and a full conversion engine box loom ecu and drives for about 1200 euro
