Hi all, i'm looking to convert my S80 4.4 box to a 4.7 FD.

What all is needede to do this, and how hard is it to do?

Thanks for the help lads...:nice:

literally half way through doing this myself, you'll need a 4.7 final drive which consists of a crown wheel and pinion.
also an idea to buy some new final drive bolts, works out at 37.50 for ten from honda.
all ten snapped when i tried to remove them from my old final drive.
i dont know if its advisable to use heat on the final drive to remove the bolts or not

Nice, thanks for the info!

Do us a favour and take a few picsw and post them up as you go!:thanks:.

I can't imagine heat being a problem, i'd say the get fairly hot when the car is being driven hard so i hope it wouldn't be a problem

Off topic tho but heat is class!:nice:

worh factoring in extra money to replace any worn syncros/bearings/selectors

when the box is in bits you're best replacing these parts to save stripping the box again at a later date

remember the bolts are reverse threaded, thats prob why you broke them!

Tried them both ways slowly with a knuckle bar wouldn't give at all until they snapped. Got mad and air gunned them off, that'll teach them to laugh at me!!
