I'm Constantly Told the most Expensive Branded Oil is whats best for your Engine at 30 Euro for 2 Liters Not even Enough for a Oil Change.....

I've Stock Internals ( Other then a Baffled Sump ) with Bolt on Mod's and Do 3-5 Track Days a Year.

Does the Price Mean's its Better? Same Question for Gearbox Oil.

Id Regularly Use Motul SS 10W40 + Motul Transmission Oil.

not much help but just thought I would say I use 10W40 castrol and I also like to use Honda gearbox oil, after all they have done all the hard work in making it for there engines.

same goes for coolent I always get hondas stuff :)

The most expensive isn't always better for your engine. With standard engine i'd use a good quality 10w-40 semi synthetic. And also as for gearbox oil use Honda MTF or some people use Landrover MTF 90 as apparently its the same but i'd stick with Honda if you can get hold of it.

mobil1 or nippon eneos would be fine 10-40 as the manufacturer recommends.
I personally use the Oberon 5w50 for some time now so it woudlnt be wise to change :)

i always use motul 10w40 6100

under 30 euro for 5 litres

and land rover MTF94

There are people using an "ok" oil that have, or must have more frequent oil changes and there are people getting what`s most expensive and keep it a couple thousand km`s more. What i decided to do, is go with honda`s specs (SH,SJ 5W-30 but a bit thicker as i`m in a warm climate country) and see what oil with that requirements behaves better in my engine.

If the manufacturer recomends a certain viscosity oil then that is what should be used unless the car is being raced/rallied full time.
However a lot of people use a whole host of different quality/viscosity oils so by the end of the second page you'll probably have 10 completely different responses to your original question lol!

Lower end oils will breakdown much quicker and will be less stable at high temperatures and pressures.

The higher end oils wont need changing half as much and give more protection for the time its in , so you dont actually save much using a cheaper oil.

If you look into ''high temperature high shear'' (HTHS) values of oils it will give you a better idea.

Personally use Motul 300V 5w40 which has a really high HTHS value.

I have stopped using Mobil 1 Super S 10w40 and started to use Motul 10w40 6100 better
results so far ,For my Cusco 1.5 way diff I use 60/40 mix of Castrol Race b73 and Motul 80W90.

i love and use their 10w40 with ''extra zinc''
i think to switch to their signature 5w30 oil but it has a lill less zpp so im 50/50 in that...

Im use:
Civic EJ2 D15B7 - ENEOS 5W50 Fully synthetic = 50 000 km or 31k mi GOOD, engine clean
Celica T23 1zzfe (bad engine) - Liqui moly 5w30 synt = 30k mi. OK, engine clean
Civic FN2 K20Z4 Motul Eco-energy 5w30 - 12k mi. good
