hey guys basically i want a gearbox wiv a lsd for my vti. can u put a lsd into my current standard vti box?

what other boxes can i use? what works well?

iv also thought about some differnt ratio's fancy some more accelleration, but dont really wana sacfifice my final drive, asi use the motorway quite abit.

if thats possiable?

all your threads could be answered by using the search tool! :nice:

U can get a box out of an EK9, DC2 or import SiR that has optional LSD in some.

Sounds like a JDM 98 spec Integra R (DC2) box is what would suit your needs they have a shorter final drive but are fitted with longer 4th and 5th's to acomodate motorway driving plus they all have a std honda LSD's. Apparently the UK integra R has the same box so id look out for one of them, bit pricey and will most likely need new syncros (gears will crunch in higher revs) but worth it if you going to use it .

Hope that covers what info you needed

thanks man, iv been offered a ek9 box thats in good condition for 380 does that sound ok? price wise? are ek9 ratios differnt than vti?

Alright Joe.
Personally i dont think an EK9 box is worth it tbh. An EK9 box is the same as a VTI box, except it has an LSD as standard. The gear ratios are the same. So, if your looking at spending a couple of hundred quid, i dont think it's an upgrade worth undertaking.

The gearbox you want is an S80 (Integra type R 98+) box.
This has the shorter 4.785 Final and factory LSD. The first second and third gear ratios are real close which means superb acceleration. 4th and 5th are longer to accomodate motorway driving.
If you want, you could exchange the 98 spec 4th and 5th for a 96spec 4th and 5th. They were shorter again and would give the best results when put together.

ek9 and vti gearboxes bar the lsd are not the same, the ek9 box has dual synchros in 2nd 3rd and 4th.
i had a teg box with the 4.78 final drive on my ek9 and it is a big jump from 3rd to 4th.

personally i suggest you try the ek9 box with a 4.78 final drive and fir 5th gear from a 98 spec integra.
that way you will get the fast acceleration in the lower gears but still maintain decent economy in 5th for use on the motorway

well first off thanks guys for help so far, i dont really know to much about ratio's atm soo still get lost haha

so a 98+ spec jdm integra box is what i want? will the excelleration be much better on one of these boxes comparted to my vti box? also am i right in thinking the itr box will be fine for motorways?

also will i notice much difference with a lsd?
