:welcome: to the forum mate!

I would say a 96 civic 1.4 for your first car is defo a good choice!:nice:

yea 1.4 is a good choice for a first car but the insurance will be pretty steep none the less

make sure you get a quote for insurance before looking for a civic

Very good point there mate!:nice:

Some thing i should have thought of, but being 25 now i tend to forget about insurance cost!:p

Yeah thats the only problem i think i will have is the insurance but i really do love the thought of a civic on my drive so might be a price i will have to pay :)

Hi mate,

Welcome to the boards!

Why not ring round and get a few quotes or even go online and get some, try it on a couple of different cars you really fancy....

You can always upgrade as you get a little older, then finally, you'll be in the ek9!

Have fun

Yea go 4 it lad

had a 99 1.4 civic as my first car aswell
savage cars never gave me trouble

Hello there and welcome to the forums!! A 1.4i EJ will be a good choice but remember that to quote first before buying and mind u from wot ive learned, not all engine parts from ek9 will fit an ej. So becareful when tuning =]

so i thought my first car will jus be a low insurance car then when im a bit older like 20-23, i will then purchase an ek9 or an fd2 =]

a 1.4 would be a good place to start -- thats what i did!, i have a EK4 VTi-S now, as well as my EJ9 1.4 illusion that i'm selling soon. for a 1.4 they are not painfully slow, quite nippy actually -- and looks wise there is little difference from the 1.4 models and the VTi model.

I got a 1.4 two years back purely for insurance reasons, the EK4 is insurance group 15:wow:, so couldn't afford it back then! -- but still i don't regret it, its still a great car and i will be sad to see it go -- only selling due to the fact that i have no space for two cars!:angry2:

so yes, i would recommend one!
