hello everyone, just wanna say sorry if a post like this has been made, right:

Ive been searching around for a set of coilovers for my EJ9, because its like an essential part of modding the car to have sit on its ass.. but any ways.. Im currently looking for a set of coilovers but I dont know what to go over on such a tight budget?

anyone got any ideas? where i can get a decent set for a low price? I know you pay for what you get .. maybe some one has a set they can sell me?

help a bro out please :( im having no bloody luck so far

what are you planning to do in the car?

if its just a road car then a set of lowering springs would do

Yeah the car is a road car - its a D14A4 Hatchback - wont be used for track as its my daily and im 19, but I want full control over how much I can lower it by, thats why I wouldnt want springs

Yeah I was thinking about these actually.. they any good? anyone had any experience with them?

It depends what you are looking for. If you just want to adjust the height of the suspension and don't really care about anything else they are fine. If your are looking to improve the handling of your car then no they are ****.

well a bit of both ... i dont want to kill myself lol .. haha handling isnt a massive thing cos its not a track car, the ultimate goal is to get some lows but not kill the ride.. i know im asking alot with my budget and it sucks

Cheap coilovers are ****. End of.
If you just want lows swap springs, better than most cheap coilovers.

My advice would be to save some money and buy some decent, reliable and safe coilovers if that's what you want

Use the archived suspension threads on this site to learn more about handling etc.

I don't recommend you cheap out on the suspension! Save up for a good set of coilovers you will be proud to have on the car. Do your research. Pick up a set with a good reputation that has a supportive manufacturer who stands by their products and will take care of any problems.

While I'm ranting, avoid the temptation to spend little amounts on small things that don't matter, save up for the big things.

I don't recommend just throwing lowering springs over stock shocks because eventually the shocks (dampers) will fail. Stock shocks are made to work within a certain height.

Thanks buddy, yeah I had a word with a few guys and this guy i was speaking to has a Civic coupe '97 and has BC Racing coilovers and they are the absolute nuts! fully adjustable damping and height for something just shy of £800? but I believe he is doing a D16 to a B18 engine conversion so wanted the right stuff.
